Laurel View offers emergency accommodation and support to individuals in crisis and/or transition. This could be following the breakdown of an existing placement or difficulties in the family home. Individuals are supported on a short-term basis (up to eight weeks) while their needs are assessed and a suitable long-term placement is found for them.
Accommodation The accommodation consists of two self-contained flats; a one bedroom flat and a two bedroom
flat. Each flat has its own front door, kitchen, bathroom and living space. There is also a shared garden.
Support We provide an individually tailored programme of support which enhances and develops daily living skills. Our specialist and structured support is responsive to the needs, goals and aspirations of the individual, using a variety of autism-specific approaches. Living
at Laurel View will give service users the opportunity to go through a transition and settling stage in a safe environment before the possibility of sharing with others. All of our staff are fully trained to support individuals with autism and to respond to their needs using person-centred planning. They are dedicated individuals who have undergone a supervised induction period. They receive regular guidance from senior members of staff, and have undertaken a thorough introduction to the service’s policies and procedures including care plans, health and safety, equality and challenging behaviour.
This support will be delivered with a personal development plan and regular meetings to review progress. Service users are also supported in integrating into the community through accessing local facilities and developing social interaction skills.
Pricing Structure Whilst our packages are tailored to the individual, our prices for a 24 hour overnight stay with 24/7 support start at £275.
Activities We emphasise support to suit the individual’s circumstances. Service users are encouraged to work with staff on short and long term goals.
