The pandemic has still to show signs of abating, but despite the increase in daily infections, new variants of the virus and lockdowns, our auto industry is buoyed, thankfully, by the Filipino’s love for automobiles. New car purchases have shown slow but steady growth in the pandemic, and people who in turn, let go of their pre-loved rides open up the used car market for those who aren’t ready to take the leap with a brand new car.
It goes without saying that this may be due to the fact that a car may be one of the safest spaces for you and your family on the way to work or supermarket in these scary times, which makes it a logical reason to get a car to lessen risk of exposure. Whichever way you decide to go, brand new or used, you’ve got a bubble and you’re protected from infection.
Our main feature in this issue, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines launch of their updated subcompact sedan, the Mirage G4 has a handsome new look and cool new features, but what hasn’t changed is its reliability and efficiency. In this issue, we take a look at a very limited edition modded CTR Anniversary RUF 911, Plug In Hybrids or PHEVs as practical company vehicles, and bit about if a full EV’s makes sense. We get some insight as to what it’s like to get up to 300kph in the Bugatti Chiron. What’s going on in France? Groupe PSA, (manufacturers of Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Open and Vauxhall) and FCA or Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (makers of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Lancia, and Maserati) have merged, what this spells for these brands and Renault’s renaissance will be interesting. At AutocarPH, we strive to keep you abreast of the latest trends in the automotive industry and up to date on the latest promos your favorite brands have to offer to make sure you take advantage of the best deals when you decide to get that vehicle you’ve always wanted. Stay safe, and we’ll all get through this!
