Active Understeer Control. This innovative technology helps improve control when you take a corner. It reads the cornering situation and, if needed, will imperceptibly brake the appropriate wheel to help you steer through the turn.

Suspension . Altima’s all-new rear multi-link suspension was designed for exceptional agility. You’ll feel it especially in the corners, when the layout of the suspension allows the rear wheels to turn slightly to match the front – giving you the sensation of riding on rails.

Shocks. Altima’s luxury sedan-inspired shocks significantly reduce vibrations for a smooth, flat ride. A rebound spring inside of each shock absorber makes for minimal roughness and more secure cornering, combining great performance with great ride comfort.

A. Blind Spot Warning . If another vehicle is detected in your blind spot area, an indicator appears in the driver’s or front passenger’s doors and on the Advanced Drive-AssistTM Display. Put your turn signal on, and the indicator flashes with a warning chime to alert you.2

B. Lane Departure Warning. If Altima detects that you are straying from your lane, the Lane Departure Warning system will give both a visual and audible alert.

If your front passenger seat is empty, an occupant-classification sensor deactivates that airbag. 1 Inch Usage A. Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC). A slick spot in a corner can suddenly have you going in a direction you didn’t want. VDC, also known as stability control, monitors your steering and braking to help you maintain your steered path under certain conditions by reducing engine output and/or applying brake pressure to specific wheels.2 B. Traction Control System (TCS). Altima’s power is wasted if all it does is spin the tires, so when the standard Traction Control System senses drive-wheel spin, it responds by reducing throttle or applying brake pressure to help maintain traction.

C. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The standard ABS pumps the brakes faster than you possibly can in panic-braking situations to help prevent wheel lockup, so you can continue to steer around obstacles while braking heavily.

D. Brake Assist/EBD. If you need to slam on the brakes, Brake Assist senses how hard you’re braking, and if it senses you are in an emergency, it will automatically help to apply maximum braking force.

Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) is designed to send extra force to the rear brakes when it senses additional weight in the back.

Brake Override Technology. Like every Nissan since 2005, Altima comes standard with Brake Override Technology.
