2013 Yaris
The 2013 Yaris is about to make things better
The 2013 Yaris was designed to get noticed with its sleek lines and distinctive accents, all the way to its more masculine stance. But as great as it is on the outside, it’s even better on the inside. Yaris might be the most fun you’ll ever have driving. Its agile drive is perfect for the city - with incredible handling and a small turning radius, it’ll own any urban environment. And as great as the drive is, the amount of interior space may be even more surprising with room for your friends, and whatever you want to carry. And with amazing fuel efficiency, you can have fun on the road without thinking about filling up the tank.
Toyota’s commitment to safety is demonstrated through our innovative Star Safety System™, and our dedication to reliability is proven by the fact that over 80% of Toyotas sold in Canada in the last 20 years are still on the road today*. Those are just a few reasons why you’ll feel more confident than ever sitting behind the wheel. The 2013 Yaris, like every single one of our vehicles, was built to make things better. It’s just how we approach everything we do, every day.

TRAC
TRACTION CONTROL Helps maintain traction on wet, icy, loose or uneven surfaces by applying brake force to the spinning wheel(s).
ABS
Anti-Lock Brake System Prevents brakes from locking up by “pulsing” brake pressure to each wheel to help you stay in control in emergency braking situations.
EBD
Electronic Brake-force Distribution Redistributes brake force to help keep the rear wheels from locking up during sudden braking situations.
BA
Brake Assist Detects sudden or “panic” braking and adds the full pressure needed to help prevent a collision.5
SST
Smart Stop Technology Smart Stop Technology is designed to reduce engine power when the brake is firmly applied helping to bring the vehicle to a stop, even if the accelerator pedal is fully depressed.6

safe comes naturally. Not only does it deliver outstanding crash safety performance, it also comes with advanced safety features, like nine standard airbags1 and a front-end cushioning system designed to absorb energy and minimize damage in the event of an accident. It’s peace of mind for you and all of your passengers, wherever you go.
1. DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAGS1 In the event of certain types of front-impact collisions, this airbag provides protection to the driver and the front passenger.
10
2. DRIVER’S KNEE AIRBAG1 Also in certain types of front-impact collisions, the driver’s knee airbag can help provide protection to the area of the driver’s knees.
3. FRONT AND REAR SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS1 In certain types of side-impact collisions, these airbags help provide protection for the outboard occupants of the vehicle.
4. DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT-MOUNTED SIDE AIRBAGS1 In the event of certain types of side-impact collisions, the driver and passenger seat-mounted airbags are designed to help protect the driver and front passenger-side areas.
5. DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION AIRBAGS1 The front seats are equipped with seat cushion airbags.
6. DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER WHIPLASH-INJURY-LESSENING (WIL) SEATS The front seats feature a Whiplash-Injury-Lessening (WIL) design to help reduce the risk of neck injuries. In certain rear-end collisions, WIL seatback frames are engineered to yield in a controlled fashion and help minimize the motion differential between the occupant’s head and torso.
7. LATCH LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) provides an added measure of safety for the smaller members of your family. LATCH includes lower anchors on the outboard rear seats and tether anchors on all rear seats.
Vehicle Stability Control Helps prevent slips and loss of traction by reducing engine power and applying the brake force to the wheels that need it.4
Toyota was the first full-line manufacturer to make all of the elements of the Star Safety System™ standard on every new vehicle. Visit toyota.ca for more details.

Fuel Consumption Rating
(1) All Toyota vehicles shown in this brochure have Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS) which, depending on the model, may include driver and front passenger airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, front seat-mounted side airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags, driver and front passenger seat cushion airbags. For important safety information about the Supplemental Restraint System in a vehicle, please see the Owner’s Manual or contact your local Toyota Dealer. (2) Fuel efficiency estimates were determined using approved Government of Canada Test Methods. Actual fuel consumption will vary based on driving habits and other factors. (3) Toyota tests certain phones for compatibility with Bluetooth technology. Some vehicles equipped with Bluetooth technology are available with bilingual capability. Note that the recommendation of Toyota is not a warranty of the performance for any phone and that some problems may occur with any type of handset based on the service coverage available in your area. Please see your Toyota Dealer for details. (4) Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. (5) Brake Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road conditions. (6) Smart Stop Technology operates only in the event of certain simultaneous brake and gas pedal applications. When engaged, the system will reduce engine power to help the brakes bring the vehicle to a stop. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver input can all impact stopping distance. Smart Stop Technology is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving and does not guarantee instant stopping.
