Access OEM repair data & labour times

ALLDATA Repair includes 89,000 make, model, engine, year (MMEY) vehicle combinations – 95% of vehicles on the road today. These are converted into 12 million technical documents, derived from original OEM repair information from 29 vehicle manufacturers. The data source features a library of three million technical drawings and wiring diagrams, and is regularly updated.

An annual subscription provides instant access to repair data, Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), diagnostic trouble codes and electrical systems/wiring diagrams. The data is available under license from each OEM and collated on the ALLDATA website.

A new product has been integrated into this extensive database, giving users accurate OEM labour times, provided by TecAlliance, that match both repair information and maintenance procedures for a specific vehicle within ALLDATA Repair.

“Our customers have been asking for a resource that delivers trusted OEM labour rates alongside the repair and collision information in ALLDATA Repair,” said Karol Englert, Managing Director for ALLDATA Europe. “ALLDATA Labour Times does that and more. It also enables garages to plan technicians’ schedules and allocate resources for maximum efficiency.”

Top Tip!

autotechnician contributor Gareth Davies uses Alldata Repair within his diagnostic armoury to access manufacturer technical data and research a vehicle and its systems before committing to a token purchase via the manufacturer portal to get to work on the fix. He offers this advice when searching for data: “A tip here, particularly prominent with the German manufacturers, you need to think and search like it’s written by them. In terms of searching AdBlue, you won’t necessarily return results you want, if any. But change that to SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction), or reduction fluid, and you will find plenty of useful information. A common fall down with manufacturer data is unless you think like it is written, you might feel your data supplier hasn’t got it. Alternatively, you can send an information request to Alldata, with a rather good response time in getting what you need.”
