.COM FOR THE AUTO ENTHUSIAST IN YOU
Letter from the Publisher Dear Readers, Just shy of four years ago we launched AutoUrge Magazine for the local auto enthusiasts. It is with great disappointment that July will be the last issue of AutoUrge for the unforeseeable future. As you are aware, due to the current “pandemic” situation that disrupted our distribution — among other things, we had to stop the printed version of the magazine a few months ago and decided to continue with the digital version online. However, after a few issues of online-only, we have been reminded by ourselves and many readers/fans how much the printed magazine is missed, liked, and looked forward to, despite the popularity of the digital world we live in. AutoUrge is not going anywhere. AutoUrge is “For the Auto Enthusiasts in You”. Look soon
for new AutoUrge Merchandise to include automotive enthusiasts apparel and more! Be sure to check in at AutoUrge.com and “Like” and “Follow” us on Social Media for announcements and details. As far as AutoUrge the Magazine in print? We are looking at a new and exciting way to enjoy AutoUrge in print—hopefully in the Spring of 2021.
advisors, photographers, writers, our design team, and so many more. Your efforts, generosity of time, and support are greatly appreciated!
NEW! – The people that brought you the professional, high-quality magazine, our amazing design team, will be focusing their efforts on our area’s businesses with their talents to offer top quality, professional, and cost-effective design services that include both website creation and traditional design work.
Sincerely,
Nonetheless, we want to take this opportunity to thank all that have contributed to AutoUrge up to this point. From the readers, advertisers,
Thank you again for being a valued supporter and your continued support during this unprecedented time.

n order to integrate properly with today’s vehicles, quality pieces are absolutely key to the quality and longevity of the installation. For example, on a newer (say 2018ish) Chevy truck, there can be upwards of 10+ combinations of wiring harnesses for a radio replacement. These combinations will come from various manufacturers that may or may not work depending on what OEM equipment the truck is equipped with. However, some of those are sketchy at best on continuing to work overtime. Maybe, if the truck has BOSE audio, OnStar, or steering wheel controls, then the piece required can change with options (as well as the price).
Many of today’s vehicles require these more expensive integration pieces in order to keep proper functionality of the OEM systems as well as to make the aftermarket piece being installed perform as expected. So deciding to go with a piece found on the internet where the person selling it has no idea what is in your vehicle is a bit of a gamble. Not to mention any type of warranty issues should they arise. Always expect the person you are dealing with to take the time to come take a look at your vehicle to ensure it will work correctly and give you a long-lasting install for you to enjoy. And trust the years of experience from the professionals on quality parts, trust me when I say that they want everything to go smoothly and last just as much as you do. ■ Thank you for reading, Brandon Green/ Owner The Car Audio Shop MECP Master Certified Technician www.thecaraudioshop.co Have a question or topic idea for Mobile Electronics? s mentioned in the “Letter from the Publisher” on page 3, this will most likely be the last issue for this year. In light of the coming break, we wanted to highlight all the “LOCALLY OWNED” cars featured in AutoUrge over that past 40 plus issues. All in all, it’s about 22 vehicles—not counting the local “Reader’s Rides” we have also featured and various local racing events, shows, etc.. It has been a real pleasure getting to know and working with all these car owners. We desire to be back in print in 2021 and hope to continue featuring some of the area’s best rides when we do. We have a great list of locally owned cars we had planned to shoot this season. If you have a car you think we would want to see, don’t wait for us to find you—share it with us, and possibly you could be added to the list and/or be featured in the coming months as a Digital Feature. We want to again thank everyone for their support and please continue to support Autourge by Liking and Following us on social media. Also, continue to check out AutoUrge.com as we continue to add past issues you can view and read online and other features. Plus we are adding an AutoUrge Merchandise store. Check AutoUrge.com often for updates and Like/Follow us on social media. There is only so much room for each car on each page. Therefore it was extremely hard to decide which pictures we share here. We decided to share a few favorites of each and some good overall views of each of the feature cars. Enjoy this trip down memory lane! Sincerely everyone on the AutoUrge team!

1969 Firebird Locally owned by Sean James of Barnhart, MO

June 2018 One in Red 2004 Lamborghini Murcielago Owned locally by Naseer Ahmad
“I like the fact that the early Murcielago is almost a no-frills car with virtually no amenities…like it was meant to be. Inside it is very loud, uncomfortable, and is work to drive. It requires your full attention to drive and will bite you in an instant. With all that, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
July 2018 His and Hers
GT500s
2007 Ford Mustang GT500’s Owned locally by Scott & Lynette Lewis of O’Fallon, MO “Scott returns to St. Louis and is waiting for Lynette to pick him up at Lambert Int airport. As Scott stood outside waiting, he kept hearing a horn honk. Not seeing a familiar car, Scott disregarded it and continued to wait. A horn honked again, and he noticed a white Mustang and still disregarded the honking. Finally, the honking car (Lynette) pulled up and called for Scott in her new White w/ Blue striped GT500 much to Scott’s surprise.”
