The AVA Annual Scientific Meeting is the premier meeting for everything vascular access! Not only that…but how about visiting the exhibit hall!? It’s finally going to be that time where you can check out the newest devices to help you in your everyday practice.

Coming to AVA isn’t just about networking and learning about the latest and greatest devices – it’s also about hearing amazing presentations from experts who are excited to interact with a live audience and share their knowledge with YOU!

HERE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE SESSIONS GOING TO BE PRESENTED THIS YEAR:

1. Valuing the Patient Perspective in Preservation and Protection of Vascular Access; Swapna

Kakani. Swapna has lived with a vascular access device for 29 of her 32 years of life. Join us for her session as she shares ways to inform patients and families of their options and how to prioritize their needs while effectively partnering with them to help be their best advocate. 2. How Can This Still Be

Acceptable? Robert E. Helm,

JR., MD and Michelle DeVries,

MPH, CIC, VA-BCTM . Join

Michelle DeVries as she discusses with Dr. Helm, and you the audience, many of the gaps in current practice that continue to leave patients at risk for short term complications and ultimately iatrogenic venopenia.

3. Catheter Wars: The Thrombus

Strikes Back; Andrew C.

Bulmer, PhD and Peter Carr,

RN, PhD, MMedSc, BSc. Join these amazing speakers from far, far away as they describe factors that promote and oppose thrombus formation in the context of peripheral intravenous cannulation.

4. Implementing Best

Practices: Getting Your

Recommendations Approved;
