Rotary Club of Avalon Park Begins 2021-2022 Fiscal Year by Announcing New President and Board of Directors

The Rotary Club of Avalon Park kicked off a new year at an installation ceremony in June where the new president, Jim McQueeney and board officers were announced. McQueeney’s vision for the club will be driven from the bottom up based on those projects and causes near and dear to the community.

Rotary’s service projects will be driven by and through the passion of its members. “We will drive those projects that are sourced from within, while supporting and working along-side other service organizations when the call for support is requested… and leverage resources through the community wherever we can connect the dots,” stated McQueeney. “We will challenge ourselves to get outside of our comfort zone, looking for projects that challenge us, require more effort while impacting the lives of others and feeding our souls.”

During the installation dinner and ceremony, the club was honored to have District Governor Mike Vernon and his wife Susan as well as Assistant Governor Sonya LaBosco and her husband, Tony. Tony LaBosco is also the President of The Rotary Club of Lake Nona. Outgoing President Greg Meunier and Governor Vernon bestowed the following award on our members and the club:

President Greg awarded the following award for our club members: Rookie of The Year - Damon Abruzere Rotarian of the Year - Terri Bernhardt

Governor Mike awarded the following awards: Governor’s Award for Excellence: Terri Bernhardt

The Rotary Club of Avalon Park also received an inaugural award as: District Governor’s Award for Club Excellence. “We are proud to be the first club to receive this district recognition,” said McQueeney. “We look forward to our Rotary year 2021 – 2022 and keeping with Rotary International’s theme of: Serve to Change Lives.”
