5 Tips for a Stress-Free Holiday Season
For some, any mention of the holidays immediately induces stress. Presents to buy, schedules to coordinate, family politics, and holiday weight gain top the list of many people’s worries. We can do this year differently while looking forward to togetherness! These tips will help you stay cool amidst the holiday hustle and bustle.
1. Have the right perspective.
Don’t let distractions obscure what this holiday season is all about. Purchasing every item on the best gift list, ultra-clean baseboards, and a dozen side dishes shouldn’t be your primary focus. Remember the reason for the season.
2. Keep it simple.
In your holiday preparation, not everything needs to be made from scratch or the home festively decorated. If you’re striving for perfection and stressing out, then simplify. Bake only that one dessert you enjoy, let it be enough. Find one meaningful gift for your loved one, let that be enough.
3. Do what gives you and your family joy.
If your favorite holiday memories are of baking with your grandmother, and it brings you joy to do the same, go for it! If anything else on your to-do list doesn’t bring you joy, follow rule no. 4.
4. Say no.
