Today’s Real Estate Market: An Experience of Selflessness

This real estate market has been particularly difficult for Veterans who qualify using a VA loans. Even though they are completely within their rights, I’ve experienced situations where sellers will not accept an offer from a veteran and some inexperienced agents may discourage their clients because they view the 100% financing of the VA loan as highly risky. The reality is, a veteran who qualifies for a VA loan has more stringent lending criteria than many other loans and always must qualify just as for a “regular” loan. I should also add, many of the Veterans with whom I’ve represented with have enough cash reserves for a substantial down payment. They chose the VA financing option because it’s wise cash management. I should also add the 100% financing for Veterans is a benefit offered to them for risking their lives to serve this, our country!

I’ve been encouraged to share this recent experience because it’s a wonderful example of an Avalon Park resident whose selflessness was honoring our Vets. I listed her home for sale, had 16 offers in 2 days, 5 where cash, all were above the asking price. The owners strongly believe in keeping the American Dream of home ownership alive n well. They believe in honoring those who have served and chose to sell their home to a Navy Vet and his family even though there was a cash offer for the same amount!! A truly brilliant & selfless decision that makes my heart happy!!
