Tips For Holiday Shipping
As the holiday season is quickly approaching, our staff at Avalon Mail Center would like to share with you about proper usage of envelopes, and general tips for all holiday packages. Pens, Pencils, Key Rings, Keychains, Jewelry and Candy can be sent as a package, but not as a letter. Coins, USB/ Memory Cards can be shipped as a letter via USPS but with a non-machinable surcharge. There are Suspensions and Restrictions issued by USPS to ship to Afghanistan, Belarus, Greece, Israel, Laos, Macao, Myanmar, Niue, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Ukraine, Yemen. These are impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic and other unrelated service disruptions. Please check at usps.com on the conditions of the Suspensions.
General tips to make the holiday season go smoother. As early as possible, check the shipping and sending deadlines for the holidays. USPS Priority Mail cutoff date to deliver this holiday December 25th season is by Monday, December 18th 2023, USPS First Class Mail or Ground Advantage cutoff date is Saturday, December 16, 2023. It is recommended to have all USPS packages sent by Wednesday, December 13th 2023. After December 18th, packages will be limited to FedEx and UPS.
Avalon Mail Center offers customers all of the services mentioned above. In order to minimize undeliverable and/or delayed mail, doublecheck your addresses, include a return address on shipments. When shipping to colder weather regions, please allow additional days for transit. To avoid bleeding from rain or snow and smudging, use waterproof mailing or bags.
