Update from Pasco County Commissioner

I hope you all had a wonderful month of October as we get prepared to start of the holiday season later this month. I appreciate you taking the time to read about what is happening throughout Pasco County.

There was a major policy win that will lead to more jobs coming to Pasco County. On October 25th, the County Commission approved a plan to remove any limits on industrial or target businesses for the Central Pasco Employment Village area. This is great news that can lead to exactly what we want for our area, more good quality jobs! I’m proud this was accomplished before I left office.

On October 27th, I had the great honor to participate in groundbreaking for Pasco County Fallen Law Enforcement Officer Memorial at the Historic Courthouse in Dade City. My colleague on the County Commission, Ron Oakley, has worked tirelessly on making sure this happens. I hope you will visit the memorial once construction is completed in 2023.

I was thrilled to sponsor resolution for Disability Employment Awareness Month. We were joined by representatives from The

Able Trust. They work hard on employment opportunities for citizens with disabilities throughout Florida.

As you know, I’m extremely proud of the work of our tourism office, Experience Florida’s Sports Coast. In October, the tourism office hosted a television show from the nation of Uruguay filming a Halloween special!

In early November, the Sarah Vande Berg Tennis and Wellness Center will host a ribbon cutting for The Well, their new housing for students training there from around the world. This is exciting and another reason that we are Florida’s Sports Coast.

Please check out Pasco County’s website at MyPasco.net for all the latest information. I hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe November!
