Picture below shows the

Picture below shows the zoals das the Dutch painter JAN VAN SCOREL saw it in 1520 with in the middle a pillar. Round the year of 1536 sultan S端leymaniya from Turkey has changed the gate as well the wall rigorous. The pillar disappeared and the gate got closed with brickstones according the prophecy of EZEK. 44:1-2 (see also ZECH. 9:9).

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah. Psalm 24:7-10 The doors you see here below, are centuries old doors. We saw them laying against the wals behind the gate, and made this picture. Years later they were removed from that place, as you can see here below, perhaps been put on the inside, as there is a kind of a hall behind the gate, between the alley’s on both sides where the doors laid. There were even chairs on the inside, seemingly to be used for moslim meetings. The doors seems to be worn out, but scratching it off, it is beautiful wood (we took a little peace off, and have it since).

Picture below is the same place as picture above but without doors.

Lithostrotos (pavement for horses underneath the palace of Pilate)

Picture underneath shows gambling stone for obtaining the garment of the Lord

Picture above: This floor used to be the place where the horses came in and found their protection. Whether the palace of Pilate was build on top of this place or beside, is hard to discover. For sure there is a cell for one person to stay a night over before being sentenced, as writer of this has seen. It must have been inside that cell the Lord had to suffer with His wounds of a bleeding back. (Now it is the cloister of the Sisters of Zion.)

Picture underneath shows the place of the crucifixion at Golgotha near the tree
