KLM BEGINS WIDEBODY FLEET RENEWAL WITH A330-300 DELIVERY The A330-300 delivered Wednesday is leased from Air Lease Corp. (ALC), the first all-new aircraft that KLM has taken from the lessor. The second -300 w ill be delivered in March and the third in April, w ith both aircraft leased from GECAS. A fourth -300 w ill be delivered in January 2013 and w ill be ow ned, although Slobbe said there remains the option to do a sale and leaseback deal. In addition, a 12th A330-200—also to be leased from ALC—w ill be delivered in April 2013. Read more >

Rossiya – Russian Airlines has started retrofitting An148s into single class layout Rossiya – Russian Airlines has started retrofitting An-148 aircraft’s cabin. The jets intended for regional routes w ill now have only economy class cabin w ith 75 seats in order to increase the operational efficiency of the aircraft, the airline’s pressservice reports. The construction of Аn-148100V allow s transporting of 68 – 83 passengers. The modifying of the layout from 68 seats to 75 ones has been foreseen by the Rossiya airline and it w ill not affect the level of comfort. The seat pitch w ill remain the same – 812 mm. Boeing 787 Dream liner Lands in Santiago for Chilean Debut The Boeing 787 Dreamliner touched dow n in Santiago, Chile today for a w eeklong visit as the centerpiece at the FIDAE 2012 International Air and Space Fair. Throughout the w eek, LAN Airlines executives and employees, special invited guests, media and other air show attendees w ill get a chance to tour and experience much of the airplane’s cuttingedge technological advancements.
