FRONT SECTION FOR FIRST FLYABLE A350 XWB ARRIVES AT TOULOUSE FAL Airbus has delivered the front fuselage for the first flyable A350 XWB (MSN1) to the Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse (France). BOEING’S 50TH 747-400BCF DELIVERS TO EVERGREEN INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES Boeing, Evergreen International Airlines and Taikoo Aircraft Engineering (TAECO) celebrate the delivery of the 50th 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). The airplane is the first to enter the Evergreen fleet and the 40th conversion completed by TAECO. Airbus starts production of the A320neo Family The first ‘cutting of metal’ for the Airbus A320neo has taken place in Toulouse. Virgin America reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2012. With overall fuel costs higher by 47 percent year-over-year, the financial pressure of the airline’s industry-leading capacity grow th and a revenue shortfall associated w ith the carrier’s transition to a new reservations system, Virgin America reported a first quarter operating loss of $49 million on revenues of $267 million. Airshow 2012 – UTair Aviation and Airbus signed a contract on delivery of 20 A321 aircraft, the airline’s press-service reports. FL Technics Training: are older aircraft less airw orthy? Timew orn aircraft, poor quality of MRO services and the shortage of experienced pilots are among the most frequent reasons for the biggest accidents in the aviation history. The last year’s crashes of the Russian aircraft have draw n the attention to the age of aircraft and how it might affect flight safety. A number of recent airw orthiness directives for the general aviation fleet seem to be directly related to aircraft age and flight time. On the other hand, analysts say that human error has accounted for 70 per cent of all aircraft accidents over the last decade. Many aviation experts believe that as concerns aircraft there is no such w ord as ‘old’, stressing that airplanes can fly for many years as long as all maintenance procedures are follow ed.
