120 Month Inspection and Collins VENUE System Upgrade on a Bombardier Global Express XRS at ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service

The Bombardier Global Express XRS is a very powerful model of Bombardier’s business jets for up to 19 passengers depending on type and configuration. It has an ultra long range of 11,482 km at a maximum speed of 950 km/h. This business jet meets all the travelers needs regarding privacy, comfort and luxury and enables them to arrive rested and motivated at their destination even after intercontinental flights. ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service just welcomed a Bombardier Global Express XRS for a 120 month inspection in hangar 16 in the maintenance facility at Hanover Airport which is scheduled to be performed within 12 weeks. Station Manager Jan Girwert explains: “The 120 month inspection includes removal of all exterior panels for a detailed primary structure inspection and also the whole fuel tank is subject to a precise inspection. Additionally, the landing gear and all six flaps are removed. The landing gear is sent to the manufacturer for a detailed inspection. All flaps are deskinned and repaired in our sheet metal shop in Wegberg during the downtime.

As the complete cabin must be disassembled as part of the inspection, the operator of the aircraft is taking advantage of the downtime for a partial interior refurbishment including repair of varnish and refurbishment of the leather seats. Additionally, the whole on board entertainment system is upgraded to the latest state of the art technology. This includes larger HD displays, Apple TV installation, high speed internet, moving maps and cabin control via mobile devices, personal touch screen, etc.

Jan Girwert and his team are delighted to take care of this huge inspection including the interior refurbishment and technology update. Complex jobs like this are always a great challenge for the whole team and demonstrates our capabilities when all involved departments and branches work together as a team to meet all milestones within the project. Everybody in the entire team is only satisfied when the customer is happy with his aircraft released to service on time in a perfect technical condition and according to safety standards.
