CAMO - Maintenance Tracking The practical guide how to get things done! Why you need to track your maintenance? Same as on your car the aircraft needs certain maintenance from now and then. Having your tracking system in order is crucial for your operations as it prevents unforseen maintenance stops and unnecessary ground time. The aircraft and engine manufacturer provides you with schedule which needs to be adopted to your aircraft maintenance programme (AMP). Once you have established your AMP and have it approved by the authority its time to do a bridging check with your maintenance tracking system you use. That is to make sure all tasks are inserted correctly with the last complied time and date to calculate the next due for each task. Failing to have a proper check done may lead to non compliance with your AMP which can ground your aircraft immediately.
What software do I need? This really depends on several factors: What type of aircraft do I operate What costs I'm willing to pay Do I need maintenance tracking only or should I go for a more integrated software This are all points what play into the decision what software you should use. There is a wide range of service providers now a day to choose from.
What does it track? Your maintenance tracking system should include all relevant airframe, engine and propeller tasks together with any requirements by the authority and applicable airworthiness directives (AD) and service bulletins (SB). For each tasks there will be the last done information with time and date and the next due date when it is to be performed next.

Also for tasks like AD's and SB's there should be the reference when it was performed or the information why it was not performed.
