Keynote: Navigating the Great Resignation in Aviation

Over the course of 2021, millions of workers have left their jobs for a variety of reasons. This recent phenomenon, called “The Great Resignation,” poses particular challenges to the recovery of the aviation industry in a post-pandemic world. By its very nature, aviation requires significant investments in time and training of workers to maintain necessary safety standards. Losing those workers — to another job or another industry — represents a loss of talent and investment that significantly damages companies. Understanding this phenomenon, and what we need to do better as an industry to mitigate its impacts, are critical steps to ensuring our industry’s health. Better communication between management and workers at all levels of our companies is key to overcoming the obstacles presented by the “Great Resignation.” Vesa Paukkeri, CEO, CTS Engines 9:40am Industry Fleets & Engines Forecast Brian Kough, Senior Director, Forecasts & Aerospace Insights, Aviation Week Network 10:10am Assessment on Americas Recovery

& Impact on Engines Market

Immediately following the forecast, what are the panel’s reactions to the data presented? How do they see fleet recoveries taking shape through 2022 and what will be the most significant drivers of retirements, new engine deliveries and teardowns? What will be the knockon impact for OEM profitability and what steps must MROs take to prepare to work on newer engines?

11:30am USM Availability & Pricing

With operators generally holding onto assets there is a lot of speculation around pricing and subsequent asset values. With a bow-wave of materials still expected, what will be the impact down the value chain? Many stakeholders are on hold to see which engines come for breakdown and when. What impact, if any, is the cargo market likely to have on values and life expectancy of certain engines? Moderator: Brian Schmidt, North America Practice Team Leader, Patriot Industrial Partners James Bennett, Commercial Director, AerFin Hunter Edens, Senior Director Asset Management, Aero Capital Solutions Horacio Repetto, GEAM General Manager, GE Aviation Eric-Jan (EJ) Schmidt, Head of Global Marketing, ILS 12:15pm Networking Lunch Sponsored by StandardAero 1:30pm IFS Hosted Session:

Digital Automation of the Engine Shop – Priorities and Business Drivers

Overhauling aircraft engines is a complex and competitive business involving independent providers, OEMs and airline-owned shops offering in-house and third party services. The complex nature of the engine teardown, repair and reassembly process lends itself well to computer automation. This presentation will review the business drivers and priorities for engine shop automation including work scope planning and estimating, work planning and optimization, work execution and tracking, and the implications of skilled worker shortages and workforce retirements. Also to be discussed is the importance of customer communication for work approval, visibility into turnaround time, and records sharing. Matt Medley, Industry Director - A&D Manufacturing, IFS

2:05pm Ensuring efficiency in engine shop

visits dual focus: supply chain and workforce

There are multiple factors which have the potential to cause bottlenecks in shop visit schedules, but two of the most prevalent are unreliable supply chains and workforce considerations. Taking each of these in turn, what are the strategies and measures that MROs must employ to reduce the disruption to their workflows and keep industry moving? What supply chains flows must be developed to ensure operational efficiency? And what training and personal development programmes can ensure a stable, welltrained workforce as MRO demand increases? Moderator: Angela Garber, VP Sales, CTS Engines Aileen Barton, Director of Services Marketing, GE Aviation Ana Bidarra, Engine Shop Planning and Control Manager, TAP Portugal Frank Haberkamp, VP Repair Services, MTU Maintenance Tommy Mitchell, President, iAero Thrust 2:50pm

MRO Operational Experience of Recent Engine Types & Look Ahead to Next-generation Narrow-body Engine MRO

With new engine types coming to the market, what capabilities have MROs invested in to ensure a smooth induction for customers? In hindsight, what lessons can be offered about newer engine types? What, if any, were the operational challenges and entry into service issues? Looking ahead to the next-generation of narrow-body engine MRO, what strategies can be employed to achieve readiness for these models? Moderator: Lee Ann Shay, Executive Editor, MRO & Business Aviation, Aviation Week Network Julio Ramirez, VP Sales & Customer Support, Global Engine Maintenance, LLC. Data & Digitalisation: implementation, training & business case for investment

With a broad range of digital products on the market, both third party and in-house, what are the implementation and training considerations for digital products. Ultimately, what can engineers do with this data? How can the technology best be harnessed to drive efficiencies and what are the barriers to this? Furthermore, looking at the investment decision for these technologies, is it simply a ‘buy or build’ choice, or are there further business considerations to make? Moderator: Christopher Sherman, Director, Alton Aviation Consultancy Joseph Galko, Director of Professional Services, Continuum Applied Technologies Paula Hay, VP, Operations Modernization, Collins Aerospace 4:35pm Decarbonization of the

Engine Supply Chain

Ramco’s engine MRO solution helps in digitally transforming complex Engine MRO processes. The integrated solution helps in a wide range of functions from induction planning to customer delivery & invoicing. Advanced capabilities such us digital task cards, kitting & due parts tracking, multistage configuration control, scalable and configurable repair schemes, critical path & turnaround time (TAT) management, mobile work execution and automated invoicing help in eliminating paper and inefficiencies. And that in turn reduces cost, rework & TAT resulting in improved customer satisfaction. The below 5-step process further details how the solution simplifies and adds value to the entire Engine MRO process. Digitalization of OEM documents: The e-Publication module can process the PDF-based, XML/SGML-based technical documents. Also, with its Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capabilities, it can access the OEM manual library from the place of work through secure logins and API interfaces. This increases the operational efficiencies, by reducing the time and effort required to process the technical contents. Smart automation: Engine maintenance processes generate wealth of data pertaining to the defects, parts consumed, labor hours, elapsed time to carry out the repair and overhaul procedure. Accumulated over time, this data can become a goldmine of information to gain insights. Our derives the insights in all key processes such as work scope planning & estimation, Production planning & scheduling, and other supply chain aspects and automate the core operations and help customers gain an edge over competition. Mobility-enabled shop floor work execution: Our Mechanic Anywhere mobile app helps the mechanics to book time, report findings and record, request parts and tools, and access the technical documents from the place of work. It also helps to collaborate with fellow technicians through chat, videocall, screenshare from the same device. With the required regulatory approvals, the app future proofs your operations with digital sign-off. Ecosystem Integration: The seamless flow of data between the ecosystem partners such as suppliers, contractors, shipping partners, banks is essential for augmenting operational efficiency. Ramco’s solution enables a robust customer ecosystem through EDI, customer portal and apps, thus providing the dual advantage of boosting efficiency and improving the delivery of value to the customers. Real-time KPI Monitoring & Analytics: Our integrated data analytics provides KPIs related to TAT, quality, cost, resource utilization, and warranties and are computed dynamically without any need for manual consolidation and preparation. This makes way for a transparent and timely availability of insights for better decision-making. Prakash Devara Marketing Manager prakashbabu.devara@ramco.com +91 9884222172 www.ramco.com/en-gb
