India is sitting on the blitzkrieg of becoming an economic superpower and it is the Indian rural sector that is going to drive that accelerated growth. A world-class power infrastructure is a prerequisite to sustain higher GDP realization and consistent development of the urban and rural sectors. REC has taken on the mantle of helping in this process by facilitating availability of electricity, thereby accelerating growth and enriching the quality of life of rural India. For this purpose Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has allotted a plot of land measuring 13.6 acres in Gurgaon, India for construction of REC Township with FAR equal to 1.75. This township shall accommodate about 490 officers and staff apart from other common facilities like guest houses, community center, health club, dispensary, etc. As the project is in the rural sector of India, prime importance shall be given to cost‐effectiveness, conceptual framework, township planning and designing of the project.
