ABOUT US Since 1987 NEWL has positioned itself to become an engineering solutions provider in East and Sub Saharan Africa. Over the last 30 years, NEWL has evolved from a regional welding company into a recognized power engineering technology solutions powerhouse in East and Sub-Saharan Africa, employing over 400 people in the region. MANAGED SERVICES Being the largest company in Tanzania offering the passive and active site power maintenance, this has continued to be our core business for over 15 years of operation. We have trained engineers throughout Tanzania and Malawi attending to telecom sites for passive or active telecom related issues. Our site management portfolio has over 2000 telecom sites within our management 24/7. We have created our online application – SIC, to manage these sites remotely alongside the engineers, streamlining our operations and increasing efficiencies.

GRID CONNECTION From 1998, NEWL has been involved in grid installations and maintenance for the national electricity supplier, Tanesco (Tanzania power provider) amid network operators. Our team of power engineers are well trained, experienced and dedicated to this work. We are undertaking a similar scope of work in Malawi with the ESCOM, the local power generating company and the other Telecom operators.
TELECOM IMPLEMENTAION A continually growing business line, we have advanced to have a TI team of over 100 people spread throughout the country. Our engineers are specialized in various equipment such as Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Ceragon, ZTE etc. They are trained and experienced to install RF & TX equipment, swap different equipment from 2nd generation to 4th generation and LTE, transmission equipment installations & commissioning from various vendors and main core equipment installation

EQUIPMENT SUPPLY Having been in the telecom industry for more than 20 years, we have seen the need to source and supply spare parts and work with renowned equipment suppliers as there agent in Tanzania for the various equipment they supply. Some of the equipment we supply are generators , transformers, inverters and general consumables.
RADIO NETWORK IMPLEMENTATION NEWL has a well-established team of experienced and professional resources for the support of network operator growth in terms of coverage, quality and capacity. We have a broad range of clientele for this scope of work, ranging from telecom network operators, vendors to private companies seeking to boost their network coverage and quality. FLEET MANAGEMENT Vehicles being an essential part of our operations, and having consequently invested in a sizeable fleet of 200 plus vehicles and trucks, we have maintained vehicle maintenance workshops in various parts of the country. In Tanzania, we have 4 fully fledged vehicle workshops in Arusha, Mwanza, Shinyanga & Dodoma. In Malawi we have 1 workshop in Lilongwe. WE HAVE A BROAD RANGE OF CLIENTELE FOR THIS SCOPE OF WORK, RANGING FROM TELECOM NETWORK OPERATORS, VENDORS TO PRIVATE COMPANIES SEEKING TO BOOST THEIR NETWORK COVERAGE AND QUALITY.
CIVIL WORKS NEWL has 4 fully fledged teams for civil works, specifically site building services. We have built various towers for network operators in Tanzania, proceeding to install BTS equipment and install solar or alternative power solutions. We have the equipment and machinery for the civil works project and capability to re-invest where need be.
WAREHOUSING NEWL operates warehouse facilities in 4 major towns across Tanzania and in Lilongwe Malawi. We have grown to have a sizeable fleet of vehicles and trucks available for heavy equipment transportation. Our fleet is of 200 plus vehicles ranging from 2x4 & 4x4 cars to trucks and cranes, to cater for our various service offerings.
TRAINING At NEWL we believe in personal and career development for our staff. We plan trainings for our engineers on various vendor equipment and keep them up to date with new emerging technologies and facilitate continued professional education for them. Our workshops take in trainees and interns from various technical institutions and offer on-field training in mechanical and electrical vehicle and field operations. Â
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY We believe that sharing is caring and caring is sharing. The society around us contributes to the betterment of NEWL and therefore we aim to continuously give back to them. Education is our preferred medium of CSR projects as it is an evident need to the society around us. NEWL has pre-planned semi-annual programs to visit schools and contribute to them in books, building projects etc. to their betterment.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL (OHSE) Occupational health and safety is a key driver in our day to day operations. We abide by the international OSHA health and safety regulations. We have recently been warded the International certification OHSAS 18001:2007 management system in the maintenance of telecommunication equipment. We have equipped our teams with appropriate field gear and equipment to necessitate their safety in the places of work. Our vehicles are all fit with car tracking systems to monitor the personnel on ground. Each team on field is trained on Health & Safety and know the ‘Safety Comes First’.
