Over 33-million Americans have experienced what is known as “outof-body experiences” (or OBE), according to Medical News Today. That’s over 10% of the entire population of the United States, a significant portion of people which makes it increasingly difficult for science to ignore, or relegate OBE to over-active imaginations.
In short, OBE is a phenomenon that refuses to go away.

EVENT OR EXPERIENCE? Outof-body experiences (OBE) is a recognized phenomenon during which a person experiences leaving their physical body and often perceiving the physical world around them – sometimes seeing themselves below from a different angle or height. OBE is an unexplained phenomenon that has intrigued and fascinated humanity for centuries, permeating not only the scientific community but also inspiring folklore, mythology, as well as spiritual and religious beliefs. CAUSE OBE? One particular form of OBE is called Near Death Experience or NDE. As its name implies, NDE may be triggered when an individual experiences a near-death event (which many combat soldiers have recorded), as well as from cardiac arrest survivors, to cite just two examples. NDE can also trigger an out-ofbody experience when a patient “flat-lines” on the operating table or is momentarily considered to be “brain dead.” Often the patient

alleges to be floating above and watching their own operation below. Many near-death experiences are difficult to dismiss, especially when the patient is able to recall detailed descriptions of their own operation as they view themselves unconscious and motionless below.
