Death is still a mystery, but an analysis of those who report NearDeath Experiences provides a greater understanding of what happens when life ends. Scientific research into thousands of NDEs has led to new attitudes about the dying process. Near-DeathExperiences are not a new phenomenon. The oldest recorded medical record of one was in 1740, the date of an account published in a book purchased by anthropologist Dr. Phillipe Charlier.
