If we journalists and columnists would play fair and just step aside, for one moment, and let the majority of people speak their own true minds – unfiltered and uncensored -- well, we all might just learn something new from time-to-time. After all, if true democratic ideals are allowed to prevail, then we must allow the American people their freedom of speech regarding political correctness (PC).

And therein, lies the rub.

POLITICAL “CORRECTNESS” CAN SUPRESS “FREEDOM OF SPEECH.”

Freedom of Speech and Political Correctness (or Political “Incorrectness”) have found themselves to be strange bedfellows. In other words, one’s freedom of speech to openly voice opinions may not, in reality, be acceptable – but even punishable – under the guidelines of political correctness today.

So say the majority of Americans. In steadily increasing numbers.

In a recent survey across America, 72% of Americans today agree that: “Political correctness has silenced discussions society needs to have.” Out of that lion’s share of 72%, a hefty 58% of those Americans went so far as to state that they even have: “Political views that they are now even afraid to share.”

Especially, in the workplace. Where PC reprisals can separate you from your job, livelihood, including essential source of income. Some polls across America are as

high as 80% in agreement that PC is dangerously out of control. And, as one study reveals: “What drives ‘White silence’ is fear of speaking out.” POLITICAL CORRECTNESS VS. FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS.
