Cyclic Project The task is to develop and build a full-scale prototype of a storage device, storing anything of your choice, mounted on the wall with maximum 3 screws. The prototype should be in “working condition. It should be packaged in a purpose made packaging. The size of the container should not exceed what is possible to bring on public transport by yourself. Instructions of how to assemble and use the product shall be provided. Anybody without any prior information or knowledge about the concept/project/product should be able to understand.

The material to be used shall be wood grown and harvested in Sweden. Use only FSC certified wood, no other materials can be used other than maximum 3 screws of metal.

No pre-processed wood such as chip-board, MDF, hardboard, plywood etc. should be used, if not processed by yourself. The product shall be easy to reproduce with existing technology in a rational manner. The product should be possible to produce in large number at a reasonable cost. The surface treatment shall be of the kind that if the product is repatriated to the forest, no toxic material should get into the natural systems. The following should also be considered: efficient use of material, transport volume, ease of assembling/mounting, maintenance and repair.

The smartest and most convenient way to store and display longboards and skateboards in your home.

Dedicated skate or longboarders have more than one board. When using your boards everyday You need them to be conveniently available and not stored, for example; in your cuboard, basement or garage. Most people solve this by leaning the boards against the wall, resulting in very dirty and damaged walls.

The boards often loose their balance when leaning against a wall since thats not what they are designed to do, this means that they take off in the opposite direction punching holes in walls. Once rolling around on the floor, the board can also be potentially dangerous. You want to store and organise your boards in a convenient spot that is easily available and in a way that will also display your darlings.

There are many storing systems for longboards and skateboards on the market, although few are apapted for use in the home. The Deck Rack is for people who care about their decks and want to display them and the rack it self.

Two screws attach the rack vertically on the wall and you’re good to go. Two pockets on the upper half on the front side of the rack lets your slide in your decks to place. The rack stores, displays and organises your longboards on the wall horizontally, where they wont damage your walls or make them dirty. The racks is constructed in the same way as a skate or longboard. Different layers of wood are glued together to create the asthetics of a side of a deck. The wood used is swedish alm and ash. The width of the rack is less wide furthest away from the wall and the pockets are extruded on the upper half of the rack to create a more slank and elegant form. The angle of the pockets are so that you easily can put your board into place and so that the deck will be neatly displayed, whilst providing the maximum amount of support. The height of the pockets will support any type of board, no matter what model.
