This first project looked at a specific square in Umeå. It considered the squares center space which was several isolating garages and looked at it as the opposite – a place to interact between the inhabitants rather than the unnecessary isolating structure it provided before hand. By inviting all corners of the courtyard housing through different mediums and using levels of planes the design concludes with a social place that still incoporates the main funcitonal aspects of the garage with an underground substitute.

FRAMED DIRECTION INDIRECT GUIDING
Through the guides of the surrounding geometry this pavillion is designed to interrupt the passerby of the river to guide them towards it and interact with it by having a distinct direction in its sections of construction.

In the small village of Nyåker is the abandoned station, which constitutes one of the examples of the Nynäsmodellen. A building model for train station buildings in Sweden. The design is both a renovation and extension which intends to create a multifunctional space that encapsulates the entire process of berry/mushroom picking & processing along with storing & selling. The end result is therefore a place for a circular process between citizens of the surrounding rural area.
