As the Summer comes to an End. I bring into fruition a new endeavour! A new challenge and a new journey to embark on! As this issue is being released, I’m getting ready to move away for school. It’s frightening and exciting at the same time, truly an odd feeling. September is going to open doors and be a reset button for everything as I look to make the most of the time I’m there. Whilst at school, I’ll be looking to create more and more issues, ranging from all aspects of life! There’s no such thing as a box or lane for AYE. We sit above the norm, and the expected. We sit comfortably, in our own space and we enjoy every moment of it! We do whatever feels organic and real to us. If you force creativity, it never prospers. Creativity is a free flowing organism that lives in all of us. Don’t be afraid to let it procreate and naturally produce. Never force creativity. Change is inevitable. Don’t be afraid to embrace it. Why Music? I didn't exactly decide on getting into music. I have been drawn to music since before I was able to really comprehend it and pursue it as a career. I started dancing at age 2, learnt the keyboard at age 6, starting writing poems which led into songs at age 10, recorded my first song at age 12; next thing I know is I'm dropping out of university to go studying music business at 20.

KARIS An immigrant, a sister, a friend and a daughter! KARIS is one to remember. A Jamaican at heart and soul, she incorporates reggae into her style, both musically and culturally. Her EP “Rebels” (Pg 4) is exhibit A and its lovely, from songs like; “Get like this”, “Overdrive” to “Call da referee” KARIS shows her heritage and background. Powerful and unique, she delivers every line with a strike that doesn’t miss. A performer. Performing numerous festivals and clubs; From the market to CanJam. She’s undoubtedly making her case in the industry. She produces, she writes, she composes and a singer/ rapper. KARIS has been doing this since a child, from recording her first music at a tender age, performing at church events, moving countries and still being embedded in music. So much so, she set up recording base in her room, interning at multiple studios and even going to post secondary school to learn the art of music business. She cares and it shows. KARIS comes from a family of singers. Her mom accompanies others on her church praise and worship along with her sister giving background vocals on her EP. KARIS life is music, music is who she is! From her style of fashion to her way of communicating. She’s always thinking musically, how can she get better and always striving to be the best at what she does. An inspiration to many and a role model to some. KARIS will continue to make stride in this industry and continue her journey to set her name in stone. Everyone can cook something, but not everyone has the ability to make you feel something with their dish. To make you eat a second plate even after being full, to make you smile, to make you laugh and to make you mad when there's no more. Can you?

STUFFED BELL PEPPERS Stuffed with rice, coconut milk on top with parsley leaves, garlic powder and paprika.
HOME MADE GARLIC BREAD Seasoned with parsley and basil leaves. It also has salt pepper and garlic powder. Garlic powder mixed (like paste), glazed and placed on grill.
SHRIMP STIR FRY With noodles, cut veggies, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, parsley leaves, basil leaves, ginger, all purpose and spinach applied last to give it some bright greens (Do not put in for long, it does overcook very quickly)
COCONUT GARLIC SHRIMP With tomato, bell peppers, parsley leaves, basil leaves and garlic powder. Sprinkled with paprika.

REVENGE OF THE DREAMERS 3 A rich tapestry of unbelievable talent and uniqueness brought together by the independent label "Dreamville". 18 songs of ZERO skips.

The Hip-Hp/ Rap album done by the amazing Canadian artist "Tobi" is perfectly put together. His vocal tone, to his breathtaking lyrics strike you with each line.

The Houston rapper "Maxo Kream" had a mountain to climb to outdo his 2018 album (Punken). He outdid punken with his punchlines, silky flows over ear thumping instrumentals.
While i couldn't fit all my favourites into my TOP 5 I decided to do a honourable mentions.

THE PLUGS I MET One of the Griselda crew, the rapper "Benny the Butcher" absolutely left no stone unturned with this masterpiece of hip/hop genius, from the first track featuring (Black thought) to the very end. This Album/Ep was absolutely outstanding,

INJURY RESERVE Not much needed to say, This collective of unique artist goes under the name "Injury reserve" dropped their self titled Album and the style, the deliveries and each song was a new and great feel.

The queen of Dreamville herself "Ari Lennox" is a fabulous artist with the voice of an angel and the beauty of an African goddess. She showcased both those alongside some features for an awesome debut album.

Stumbling upon this duo 'Emotional Oranges" due to a viral video on twitter was the best use of that app that day by far. This scintillating duo gave me chills with this 8 track EP/Album. Amazing.

I have no words, such beautiful singing, powerful lyrics and a vibe that is undeniably special. "Mereba" delivered something magnificent.

CUZ I LOVE YOU The Self love, self admiration and the enthusiasm to be herself is what "Lizzo" stands for and I for one loves it. This is the Pop album we all want and need.

UNHOLY This EP/Album is constructed and put together by "Collard". Within each song were verses delivered with intent and precision, hitting every spot needed to hit.

BROOKLYN NINE NINE 1
The ensemble we all wish we and our friends were like. The camaraderie and love on screen is as lovely and friendly off screen. The ninety nine precinct is one ALL should watch. Season 6 now on Netflix.
BOBS BURGER 2
The mom and pop shop on the shores of Wonder Wharf with the family of our dreams bringing us joy and laughter every week. Though unfortunately not on Netflix anymore, it can still be found on HULU or Fox weekly.

The ladies in orange form; hardships, losses, battles, love and family everyday. From terrible guards, fellow inmates trying to have an upper hand, Mother hen moments and even partners for life. It will be missed.
GOOD PLACE The Good place, the Bad place. Whose to know where is where, what is what, and who is who. I just know that wherever this ensemble takes me next, I'm excited for the ride.
STRANGER THINGS S3 The upside down is not too scary when you have the right friends to scream with. Eleven and her friends battle monsters we only wish to not dream about. Season 3 was exactly that. My goodness.

Starring the very talented and renowned Brie Larson, this thrilling, action packed super hero movie gives you a different outlook into the life of the avengers and that universe.

We all loved the animated version and we all expected to love this version just as much, so no one was one bit surprised when you ended up crying just as much, This movie will always be in our hearts and thats a fact.
AVENGERS END GAME As an adult is it okay to ever cry in a movie theatre also filled with kids. I did, i cried rivers worth. My goodness. MR. Stark will be missed. This movie tugged at the hearts, the actions made you smile with joy and the story satisfied. A fitting end to a battle of the lifetime.
SECRET LIFE OF PET 2 We all have wondered what our pets do at home alone. The cat was out the bag in he first movie, however the second delivered similar if not better story and adventure.
