IMPLENTATION OF AGENDA 21 IN SCHOOLS

The main aim of the project is try to implement Agenda 21's ideas and philosophy ind ifferent schools. The UN' sproposal is schools to promote and put into effect this idea. Because children and education are the most important elements of changing the world .We will participate in this movement and mobility in the 21 local schools which was implemented in somepart of theworld.Agenda 21 is an idea that arises with the slogan 'Think globally, act locally.' in the 1990s byt he United Nations. This idea is aimed to prot ect the environment and sustain able development of our schools, region and municipalities. Each institution should have a small diameter Agenda 21 toprot ect the environment. TheEuropeanUnionsigned an agreement in March 2013 that indicated the desire toen large this idea and philosophy of consciousness. Our mission and ourgoal is tocre ate awarenessf or our schoolby implementing Agenda 21 of the final document, both local and at school level. Thisdocument will serve as an example for other schools and will be a turning point for awareness and will also include active participants in theschool and community. This document will be included as an official document of ourschoolsand it will be integrated in to the guide lines and rules and other existing or mative. All strategic partners' of the members will participate in national ecounity that many of them have already participated. We will carryout different activities and practical issue sassociated with the item or th ework of eco-schools. Forexample, waste, trash , water, energy, biodiversity, transport, schools, environment, healthand well-being of our world and more...Each partner will handle tasks related to these environmental issues. We are focused on the first 5 issue stop roduce practical activities, and also our work covers the main environmental action directly. We will try to solve specific environmental problems in every society and students will take part actively at this stage, they will offer suggestions and ideas to the council. And they will also participate in the meetings with local officials. Allactions will be held in cooperation with local and competent academic and will include all members of ourschool. Students, parents, staff, administration, security guard...We will provide online platform applications such as PHP tools, blog ,e-Twinning to work, share information and to produce documents and printouts. We will create our owneco-audit. We useeco-schools or other organizations, including local or Agenda 21 schools. There will be two short-term training course about eco-schools and PHP implementation. Because these are two main elements of ourproject. There will be a lot of activity meetings in every country, this is very important for the promotion and the desired effect of this project. This project will combine environmental management, philosophy change with the curriculum of ourschool in a continuous manner. We will try to be an example for othe rschools in the district and the region. We have received the support of the municipal and regional authorities. That officials are waiting for the request to be a leading center of our school application of Agenda 21 schools. 3

10 STEPS OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPLEMENTATION:

EDUCATION

PROGRAMME

1. Set up an environmental committee in school (students, teachers, parents and other staff). 2. Make an environmental protection audit (strengths and weaknesses). 3. Draw up an action plan and implement it. 4. Make an evaluation of activities. 5. Integrate an environmental protection into the educational process. 6. Involve the whole school community. 7. Create a code of environmental protection. 8. Share your experience with other schools. 9. Inform the community about its activities. 10. Prepare a report and sent an application form to an environmental education fund in target to get a “Green Flag. The main purpose of the activities was to promote knowledge, care and respect for the environment. The students, teachers and school staff became aware of the importance of sorting their waste, as well as attention was raised towards a more responsible use of energy sources and eco-friendly products. Pupils visited places and participated in environmentallyfriendly activities. We work with students from different social backgrounds that are facing financial problems and have limited ability to socialize due to their communication incapability. Summing up, our purpose of this project (to integrate children from families under the risk in a new social environment and learn about traditions other cultures improving their communication and socialization skills) was achieved. Project activities helped our students to gain will to study again, better understand oneself, regain trust in oneself and became environmental-friendly citizens. Concerning the staff, the project was an important contribution to their lifelong professional training as well as cultural and personal enrichment. They gained experience and insight into a wider European educational context and developed an awareness of their role in the greater European community. Both longdistance cooperation and plenary project contact and interaction with fellow colleagues have favoured better awareness of the different educational systems and pedagogical approaches and the exchange of good teaching practices. Communicating in English increased not only their linguistic competence but also their personal confidence.

ENGLAND

Short structured course about the British Eco-school net given by the English partner. In this trainning action, all the topics with regards to the project have been studied. Visits to local eco – schools were also included.

1. PARTICIPATION IN THE “LEARNING FOR SUSTAINABILITY” DAY BY WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL´S SUSTAINABILITY TEAM

We attended a presentation made by the institution mentioned above led by Mr Ruth Corrall. She and other members of the council team explained us their actions, targets and methodology. The main points were: Their Support to the Eco-schools programme in Worcestershire, how they tried to integrate sustainable development into the school curriculum and how they carry out awareness raising campaigns on issues such as waste minimisation, energy efficiency and sustainable transports in the schools. The model of this collaboration between local authorities and schools is going to be very useful for the project because the involvement of authorities and collaboration between schools in a local community is one of the main aims of our project. All the members of the other teams agreed that the level of development of this kind of collaboration and the managing and leadership of local authorities doesn´t exist in our towns and definitely it was a model to follow. 2. Visit to local eco- schools such as St Barnabas CE First & Middle, Drakes Broughton Harvington CE First and Nursery School Holy Redeemer Catholic Primary School

Here the staff and mainly the students explained the actions taken in order to complete the steps that must be developed in a Eco-School: they showed us their eco-codes (usually songs), their murals and reminders, their eco gardens and green houses, and they explained us how their eco patrols work. We were surprised by the motivation of the students (even in these cases of primary schools) and how all of them knew their task and how they took care of the eco garden by themselves with very little help of their teachers. The rest of the information of this event is the minute or procedings meetings attached in this webpage.

1. As this will be is the last event or transnational meeting of the association we decided how to prepare our final reports even though the teams that attended the course were only the Spanish and British. 2. The Spanish team presented to the other teams the final OUTPUST as the will appear in the platform results. 3. We discussed aspects of the use of the platform of results and about the mobility tool and the problems that the participants have about the requirements of these platforms. 4. . We visited the installations of the Portuguese School and we saw the improvements made in the school in relationship with school gardens, decoration and motivation of the students. 5. We attended a conference and a workshop about fires in the forest in the mentioned center of environmental education. We were informed how these centers work in Portugal. In that course we can realize how conservation of nature is one of the main aspects of the environmental movement in Portugal and occupied the EE/ESD field too. Following this importance the Portuguese School has developed activities related with biodiversity and the conservation of forest.
