AGE AND OPIOIDS. Know your risks. Some prescription pain medications known as opioids carry serious risks with long-term use. They cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, constipation or confusion. You can become physically dependent on them. Plus, accidental opioid overdoses can result in dangerously slowed breathing or sudden death. You are at greater risk for side effects from opioid medications if you are 65 or older and have: •

A history of drug misuse, substance use problems, or overdose

A mental health condition like depression or anxiety

Memory loss or dementia

Problems walking or have experienced falls or dizziness

Sleep apnea breathing problems

If you’re prescribed opioids, it’s very important that you take them only as directed. Because the biggest pain with opioids is the risk.

It’s the coldest month of the year. Don’t you wish there was some other way you could bring an aesthetically pleasing warm cozy fire to your home without the mess of bringing in real wood. Call Congo Fireplace & Patio, Arkansas’ largest hearth and patio store. Located in Benton and family-owned since 1920, Congo Fireplace & Patio provides specialized service and options to suit any need. Bosley Construction THE PRESERVE AT THE WOODLANDS

Building good homes is in the DNA of the team at Bosley Construction, a third-generation, family-owned company that has been behind the proverbial sheetrock of some of Arkansas’ finest homes for over 40 years. And for a business that is carrying on the legacy of the Bosley name — past, present and future — where to build is as important as what to build; which is why the next big thing in Saline County is one of Bosley Construction’s proudest creations. Brennan Bosley and his brother Chip bought 160 acres in Benton behind a neighborhood known as the Woodlands. Wanting to stay true to the area, but still drum up additional interest for the new commodity, the Bosleys named their development area the Preserve at the Woodlands. “Our first phase is 28 lots,” Brennan says, “with lots that range from about a third of an acre all the way up to 3.5 acres.” After all is said and done, Brennan forecasts at least five phases will come of this new development, possibly up to 10. They will begin construction on the second phase whenever half of the lots from the first phase are sold. Since the Bosleys have become involved, they have added 3.5 miles of nature trails through the wooded portions of the neighborhood and along Salt Creek. They’ve installed a playground, a pavilion, a walking track around the area’s 4-acre pond and helped get the property owner’s association (POA) reinstated in order to maintain these amenities. But, perhaps, the most impactful of the company’s new developments is the resort-style, community swimming pool they are building, equipped with a tanning ledge. “We are the only neighborhood within Benton School District that will have a neighborhood swimming pool and the POA amenities that we have,” he says.

Schrader Homes

Humans have basic needs, our fundamental requirements to live. And one of those is shelter. Schrader Homes has devoted their careers and lives to providing outstanding shelter for residents in central Arkansas. After receiving his degree in construction management, Alan Schrader turned his passion for remodeling and construction into a full-time career, founding Schrader Homes in 2004. Since then, Schrader has built homes in and around Saline County, doing everything possible to realize his clients’ dreams. His wife and business manager Ginger is a firm believer in her husband’s work. “Alan truly invests his heart and soul into each of his projects, as if they were his own home. He wants every client to be happy with the finished product,” she says. “From pre-construction design, through the build and up to when we close, the whole Schrader Homes team will be right alongside our clients, ready to help and do their best work.” Alan Schrader’s willingness to devote his time and energy into understanding and creating his client’s vision is instrumental to Schrader Homes’ success, all contributing to what they call “The

Custom Experience.” Clients are invited to meet with Schrader multiple times to design their dream home, so he can really get a feel for what it’ll take to make their dream home a reality. “Alan’s attention to detail is incredible, that’s a big part of how he gives our customers the best options to achieve exactly what they’re looking for,” says Ginger. Along with custom homebuilding, Schrader Homes has moved into subdivision development, starting with Bryant’s newest neighborhood, The Stables. Among the ample amenities that come with living in this fantastic gated community, three stand out. First, they’ve built modern underground utilities, so you’ll not need to worry about high winds or ice storms plunging your home into darkness. Second, the subdivision nearly hugs two of Bryant’s best public schools, sitting 1 mile away from Bethel Middle School and 2.5 miles from Springhill Elementary. Third, the 1-2 plus acre lots start at $72,000, creating an affordable affluence. Please contact Schrader Homes for information about building your new home in this outstanding new community.

KellCo Custom Homes

STONEHILL (SHERWOOD)

When Tracie Kelley, president and CEO of KellCo Custom Homes, searches central Arkansas for new areas to develop in, she does it with a fine-toothed comb. Buying a home is one of the most important decisions a person could ever make, and just as importantly is its location. Because of this, Kelley is just as particular about the neighborhoods she builds in as she is the homes she builds; a custom designer, she “never builds the same home twice.” The Stonehill residential community was an immediate inspiration for Kelley. Her design and build philosophy is about uniqueness to architecture and allowing the property to influence her overall design. “One late October afternoon, I was driving through the Stonehill area debating if this was the right place for me to build,” Kelley remembers. “I was greeted by a truck and flatbed trailer, not hauling the usual things that one would expect. Rather, a decked out truck and trailer full of children and their families. They were on a hayride! Laughter and excitement filled my spirit, and I knew this was a special place and one that many families connected with.” Since her first interaction with the neighborhood, Stonehill has added a number of additional phases to its already exquisite portfolio, including its most recent, phase six. The latest developments include an array of more beautiful, custom homes with average sizes around 2500-3000 square feet. “The new phases of Stonehill along with Creekside Addition have opened many more opportunities for me to build unique, one-of-a-kind, custom homes on properties favored for families who enjoy interacting with one another and take pride in maintaining their homes. A place where children are able to ride their bikes and where joggers are everywhere who all feel a sense of safety and security.” Newer to the scene, Stonehill is surrounded by some of Sherwood’s most established neighborhoods. Longtime residents of the community abound, along with nearby shopping, dining and entertainment options for the entire family. “Living in Sherwood is not just about buying or building a home,” Kelley says, “but becoming part of a neighborhood that is in sync with today’s lifestyles.”

Richard Harp Homes MASTER CERTIFIED GREEN PROFESSIONAL Richard Harp knows a thing or two about the home building/remodeling business. Twenty-four years of experience under his belt has given him the uncanny ability to understand the client but also keep things at or under budget. How many times does a project come UNDER budget? When Richard Harp is at the helm, you’ll likely hear that. His two college degrees, a bachelor’s and M.B.A. from the University of Arkansas and UA Little Rock respectively in finance and business administration, have helped with the numbers crunching. He loves a good challenge and working the financial end alone is a big one. But he excels in his craftsmanship as well. He is known for the product he produces. Working side-by-side with the area’s premier designers has given him a boost in the design department. Not just designers either. Richard works with architects, draftsmen and landscape designers to deliver the home you will enjoy for many years. The goal of a Richard Harp home is to deliver value and quality while providing a unique and pleasant experience for all of his customers. He wants to streamline the process of designing, estimating and building your home but without sacrifices to quality. Wasted time and money are two of his pet peeves. That is why he goes back to getting things done under budget which includes time and money budgets. Richard stands by efficiently building your home while maintaining the highest standards. A building/remodeling experience should be enjoyable but as we have all heard horror stories, it makes it a precarious situation. Not Delivering value and quality. for Richard’s clients. They attest to the pleasant experiences on his website. One satisfied customer said, “He is highly knowledgeable and a perfectionist in his work. He has highly skilled workers who provide quality work. His honesty, integrity, and perfectionism make working with him easy. We knew he would finish any project with complete satisfaction.” Richard has a long line of accreditations to his name as a builder. He holds seven designations with the National Association of Homebuilders. But being a Master Certified Green Professional is probably his highest accolade. Plus, he has his real estate license which isn’t something every builder has. Have a dream home you’ve got in mind or a remodel to update your current home? Reach out to Richard and watch it become a reality. His website shows the beautiful homes he’s built or remodeled: www.richardharphomes.com.

ARKANSAS’ BOSTON MOUNTAINS Story and Photos By JOE DAVID RICE

Driving from Fayetteville to Fort Smith requires about an hour these days, much of it through the heart of the Boston Mountains. A little over a century and a half ago, this trip — using the muleand horse-drawn stages of the Butterfield Overland Mail Company — took over 14 hours. Waterman L. Ormsby, an adventuresome reporter for the New York Herald, made the journey in 1858 and forwarded this account to his editors: 80

BILL FITTS AUTO Cars and trucks built within the last twenty years have become increasingly more reliable and long-lived with the average age of American vehicles on the road nearing 12 years. With this in mind, you may consider buying a new car, since it may last you into the 2030s. You may consider this, but smart buyers know that cars lose anywhere from 10 to 20 percent of their value as soon as you shake the dealer’s hand and drive it off the lot, and up to a full third after one year of ownership. The smartest move for many of us is to buy used, and the smarter move is to visit Bill Fitts Auto Sales, Little Rock’s premier used car dealership. At Bill Fitts Auto, potential buyers can choose from a wide selection of pre-owned cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, boats and motorcycles. Since 1986, the Fitts family has provided a simple, no-hassle shopping experience for the people of central Arkansas. Bill Fitts Auto offers great prices for trade-ins, along with in-house financing for the car or truck that catches your eye. Even for those among us with somewhat-spotty credit histories, Bill Fitts Auto is dedicated to getting car loans for its customers, no matter the credit score. Visit the car lot at Bill Fitts Auto Sales today.

MEAD WHOLESALE AUTO Scott Mead started Mead Wholesale Auto as a high school senior with only one vehicle in the lot. Now, nearly six years later, the family-owned and operated dealership located in Benton, keeps an average of 80 vehicles and strives to maintain the best atmosphere and prices in the state. The dealership buys, sells and trades vehicles and also offers motorcycles and boats. “I started this business because car dealers have such a bad rap in general and someone said, ‘If you think you can do a better job than they can, then do it.’” Mead says. “So, every car I sell, I try to give that person the same buying experience that I would want if I was shopping at a dealership.” Mead says that if his lot doesn’t have the vehicle the customer is looking for, his job is to go out and find it for them. “I’m not going to turn them loose and let them shop around and spend too much money,” Mead says. “I’m gonna go out and find that vehicle.” Mead Wholesale Auto is committed to low-pressure buying, transparent prices and standing out from retail stores by maintaining a business model centered around helping customers not only get the best buying price but also helping them secure finance options offered by local banks. “I don’t have all the big fancy incentives,” Mead says. “I just get straight to it, and I have the best prices in the state. And that’s something I’ll always stand behind.”

CRAIN HYUNDAI OF CONWAY Crain Hyundai of Conway opened last July and offers top-notch service to the Faulkner County area as the number one Hyundai dealer in Arkansas. In the multi-college city of Conway, the dealership works with everyone from first-year college students to those who have stuck around long after graduation to make the town their home. The owners and entire management staff are local residents, making it easy for buyers to connect with the salespeople who walk them through the process of purchasing a car from the state’s largest selection of new vehicles. “We strive to be locally based, family-oriented and the best price on any new Hyundai in the state,” says general manager Heath Boothby. While the local aspect is valuable, Crain Hyundai of Conway actually serves a much larger region through its online car sales. “We love online shoppers; we deliver vehicles to anyone,” says Boothby. “The entire car buying experience can be done on the internet so [it’s] especially [good] for young buyers or people who are intimidated or people who haven’t done it before.” The dealership’s eight-person internet team caters specifically to its customers, ensuring that every bit of the process is just as personal as coming on site. “We are open and honest and put everything out there for the world to see on our website,” says Boothby. For those who need a bit more reassurance, Hyundai Shopper Assurance is there to help, providing online shoppers with the on-demand personalized tools to give them the best shopping experience. Its transparent pricing, flexible test drive booking tool, three-day exchange guarantee and streamlined purchase initiative work together to make sure every buyer is satisfied. At the dealership, Crain Hyundai of Conway clients have access to the Motor Sports Authority division where they can update and upgrade their vehicles with customized accessories, from wraps and wheels to tints and tires. Along with customization, drivers can have vehicles serviced by trusted service professionals and expertly trained technicians who make sure every make and model comes out working good as new. Not only is the staff at Crain Hyundai of Conway knowledgeable, but they’re also in the business of good customer service. “I really have just a genuine, nice, friendly staff, and you don’t find that everywhere,” says Boothby. “Kindness is free.” Whether you’re looking for the ultimate gift for a college graduate or just ready for a change yourself, the folks at Crain Hyundai of Conway have everything you need to make the car buying experience quick and easy.

CAPITOL GLASS COMPANY Accidents happen. Specifically, car accidents happen, and when they do, Capitol Glass is central Arkansas’ best option for quality auto repair. Making its start in 1950, Capitol Glass is the oldest locally-owned and operated glass company in Little Rock, and its six decades have led to an unparalleled standard of excellence. The current owner, Glenn Grimes, is the son of Capitol Glass’ first employee. Having worked with the company for nearly 50 years, Grimes has a deep understanding of the quality work Capitol Glass performs. “All of our techs are certified, and we do strictly quality work,” he says. Capitol Glass isn’t the cheapest in town, but that’s not their goal. “Almost everybody’s vehicle is their second-biggest purchase after their home, so our objective is to restore cars to their pre-loss condition before the accident,” Grimes says. “We work with high-end, nice cars. The guy calling all around Little Rock looking for the cheapest option just isn’t our customer.” Capitol Glass specializes in repairing auto glass, door locks, rock chip and sunroof replacements. Though they limit installation work to auto jobs, the team at Capitol Glass can cut glass into any size which has resulted in a lot of custom glasswork for homes. “We don’t just do cars; if your house’s windows, doors or furniture glass gets cracked or broken, we can cut new pieces of glass to fit any need,” Grimes boasts. If your brand new car took a stray rock to the windshield, or if the neighborhood kids smashed a home run right into your living room, Capitol Glass is always available to restore your ride or your front windows to their former glory.

Celebrate the American cowboys historically created a style and reputation all their own. In Clinton, Arkansas, there’s one Cowboy making a difference in the community. Cowboy Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram claims a wide expanse of the small, central community, and is the place to wrangle a good deal or a good conversation. Steve Landers Jr. made the move to Clinton to open his own dealership — he’s a legacy in the Arkansas car business. This time, though, he would live up to the name he christened his business.

CONWAY COLLISION CENTER Our world runs on four wheels. Eighty-three percent of Americans drive their cars at least five days a week, to and from work, picking up the kids and running errands. During all that time spent behind the wheel, how often do you think about getting into an accident? Six million car crashes are reported in the United States every year. Accidents happen, and one will probably happen to you at some point. Luckily for central Arkansas residents, Conway Collision Center is standing by, ready to get your vehicle back on the road. From its humble start in 1994 with just two repair technicians, Conway Collision Center has grown into a team of 14 full-time employees, all working with cutting edge techniques and technology in its state-of-the-art, 14,000 square foot repair space. A lot has changed for this family-owned and -operated company, but their commitment to quality, honesty and excellent customer service is just as strong today as it was 25 years ago. Recovering from a car crash is daunting. Beyond the initial shock of the accident, the ensuing flurry of insurance paperwork can seem bewildering, not to mention the potential cost to repair your vehicle. Conway Collision Center understands this, and its repair technicians will hold your hand every step of the way, not only explaining the claim and repair process but even helping you file the claim, arrange inspections, work with insurance adjusters and find a rental car for you to drive while your ride is in the shop. Conway Collision Center’s experienced technicians are talented and versatile, able to fix almost any auto body issue with unparalleled service, all at a cost-effective, competitive rate. They specialize in major collision repair, fixing fender bender-related dings and dents, paintless dent repair and unibody/frame measurement and straightening. Accidents happen, and when they do, Conway Collision Center’s high-quality collision repair is your best path to getting back on the road.

THERE’S NOT MUCH WE CAN’T FIGURE OUT” - Donnie Van Patter

DONNIE’S FOREIGN CAR For car enthusiasts, owning a Porsche or Lamborghini might only feel like wishful thinking. However, when those dreams come true, the awestruck emotions only last until something goes wrong. Luckily for every foreign car owner, Donnie’s Foreign Car is there to help bring the excitement back to life. The shop, which features a staff with over 150 years of combined experience, specializes in servicing foreign cars, although they do work on domestic models as well. The nearly 9,000-square-foot facility is home to an impressive selection of tires and accessories as well as a team of six highly skilled and qualified technicians. Donnie Van Patter was born and raised less than one mile from the store and has been working on cars since 1986. In 1991, he took over this space and made it what it is today, building relationships with foreign car owners all across the state along the way. For him, the most valuable service the shop offers is the average tune-up. “General service is more important than anything to me,” Van Patter says. From the basic oil change and tire alignment to the more advanced services, it’s all there at Donnie’s Foreign Car. The best part? You’ll almost never have to go anywhere else because, with the expertise found in the shop, these technicians can handle almost anything. “If we don’t know [how to fix] something, we’ll read about it, we’ll ask questions,” Van Patter says. “There’s not much we can’t figure out.” Alongside maintenance services, the shop also offers what Van Patter likes to call “truck enhancements.” With custom modification and fabrication as well as a variety of lift kits, suspension packages and lights, whatever you want to change about your truck, Donnie’s Foreign Car has the tools to help you do it. With good attitudes, solid expertise and a striking reputation, this shop is one that Arkansas couldn’t do without.

A

fter 29 years in orthopedic medicine, Dr. William Hefley, Jr. has established himself as one of Arkansas’ most accomplished faces of the health care industry. His name sits proudly beside his partner’s on the signage, an immediately recognizable surname combination that Arkansans have grown to know well and trust completely. Hefley graduated from Harding University in 1981 with a bachelor of science in biochemistry. He then obtained his medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1985 and completed his orthopedic surgical residency from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1990. During his collegiate and graduate career, the attraction to orthopedics was a natural one for him. “As I went through medical school and considered various specialties and sub-specialties, I was drawn to the fields that involved working with your hands,” Hefley says. “Specifically, orthopedic surgery affords the opportunity to work with patients of all ages. From young people with a sports medicine injury to older folks needing a joint replacement, I get to interact with a lot of nice people [from] all walks of life. In addition, orthopedics is an everchanging field that is very stimulating — keeping up with the latest technology and treatment options.”

D

r. Samuel Moore is an osteopathic physician and board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is one of Bowen Hefley Orthopedic’s most recent additions, but who has quickly become one of the state’s best in the practice.

A native of Fort Smith, Moore attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he obtained his bachelor of science in microbiology. From there, he branched out to Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences to pursue a doctorate of osteopathic medicine and then to Oklahoma State University where he completed his orthopedic surgery residency. He joined the team of physicians at Bowen Hefley in 2012. For Moore, orthopedics is a family affair. It’s in his blood. “I have always been interested in bone and joint injuries,” Moore says. “My father worked for his entire career in surgery doing orthopedics, and I fell in love with it in medical school. I love to help people who are injured or are in pain and offer them some relief.”

For the past 23 years, Hefley and his partner Dr. Scott Bowen have led a team of highly qualified physicians at Bowen Hefley Orthopedics. During this time, Hefley has developed specialties in joint replacement surgery, arthroscopy and sports medicine related surgeries for hip, knee and shoulder problems. An avid sports fan and participant his entire life, Hefley finds pleasure in treating patients with sports-related injuries to help them get back in the game. “Orthopedic surgery affords the opportunity to provide a ‘cure’ for serious health issues,” Hefley says. “Whether it’s an ACL reconstruction or a rotator cuff repair or a hip or knee replacement, patients are often very incapacitated and prevented from doing their job or whatever sports activity that they love. Often times, [an] orthopedic surgery can restore pain-free mobility and really change people’s lives. That has always been the most rewarding part of my job.” Such a storied career and track record have led to a number of well-deserved distinctions for Hefley. In addition to his own practice, he is a partner and surgeon at Arkansas Surgical Hospital and has been selected as one of AY About You’s best health care professionals and was voted the best orthopedic surgeon by the Arkansas DemocratGazette.

An osteopathic physician, Moore is highly skilled at treating his patients in entirety, as a whole person. This means that, in addition to his proficiencies in orthopedic surgeries of the hip, knee and shoulder, he also excels in treating arthritis and regenerative medicines like stem cell and platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP). Despite the wide range of service offerings that he is able to provide, his favorite part of practicing remains straightforward — providing relief and cures for people who have been plagued with pain for years. “Our practice has been set up and continues to be arranged to focus on patients first and cater to the individual needs of each patient,” Moore says. “We have a smaller group than most orthopedic groups which allows us to provide the individual care that people expect.” In less than a decade of professional practice, Moore has already established significant credibility and acclaim, including being selected as one of AY About You’s best health care professionals in 2018 and 2019. NO PAIN, NO GAIN ORTHOPEDIST, THERAPIST HELPING PATIENTS OVERCOME FEAR OF REHAB THERE ARE TIMES IN LIFE WHEN PAIN CAN BE YOUR FRIEND. knees,” he recalls. As the orthopedic science progressed, attitudes toward rehabilitation and physical therapy began to change. “In the 90s, rehab accelerated and people got well sooner,” he says. “The basic principles are the same, but surgeons and therapists have a better understanding of how fast we can accelerate the rehabilitation process.”

Dr. Tom Roberts, an orthopedic surgeon in Conway with more than 28 years of experience, routinely takes the challenge of convincing his patients that handling pain will help them get better results. As Dr. Roberts explains it, overcoming the fear of pain is essential to recovering from injury. Roberts and physical therapist Beth Milligan have spent 25 years together, building trust and helping patients over the challenges of physical rehabilitation. They say communication is the key to overcoming pain. “As a therapist, you have to be a good communicator,” says Milligan. “Patients are afraid of pain, and you are going to have a certain level of pain during rehabilitation. Dr. Roberts and I explain what procedure was done, what the risks are, what a healthy level of pain is, and help them develop their goals for recovery.” Roberts recalls an older patient who didn’t want to bend her fingers after surgery. He explained to her that “yes, it hurts to bend them but if you don’t you won’t be able to use them again. That’s a good pain; there is a huge psychological side to rehab,” says Roberts. Roberts realized the importance of physical therapists to the healing process during his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Louisiana State University in the late 1980s. “We used to replace people’s knees and keep them still for a week; there were a lot of stiff

NEW THERAPY TECHNIQUES A relatively new technique called blood flow restriction therapy allows patients to exercise at lower loads and achieve strength goals normally seen in higher intensity exercise. Certified therapists apply a special tourniquet system to surgically repaired or injured limbs during exercise. The technique was perfected by Johnny Owens, a therapist who later formed Owens Recovery Science in San Antonio. “It increases muscle fatigue and muscle size at a much lower intensity level,” explains Roberts. Milligan adds, “It crosses all age groups and can be used with surgical patients as well as people with generalized weakness.” Therapists with Conway Regional Health System began using the FDA-approved Delphi blood flow restriction therapy six months ago. “Medicine is always changing; that’s one of the things that make it fun,” says Roberts. One of the biggest advances in orthopedics is in repair of injuries to articular cartilage. Articular cartilage is the smooth, white tissue that covers the ends of bones where they come together to form joints. Healthy cartilage in our joints makes it easier to move. It allows the bones to glide over each other with very little friction. Damaged articular cartilage can replaced by transplanting it from another area of the patient’s body or from a donor. Cartilage is also being grown in orthobiological laboratories. In the future, Roberts predicts that labs will be able to enhance healing by using specially-modified cartilage grown in laboratories using stem cells, precursors and proteins. RECOVERY TIPS Roberts and Milligan offer a few words of advice when it comes to recovery from orthopedic surgery and prevention of injury. • Don’t compare your injury and recovery

time to that of anyone else. “Every injury is somewhat different,” says Roberts. “You don’t want to set up inaccurate expectations of yourself.” • Develop a clear understanding of personal goals for rehabilitation and understand limits. Those limits usually involve a time based component, i.e., how long to wear a brace. Roberts compares rehabilitation to baking a cake. “If you follow the instructions, it usually turns out fine,” he says. • The most important part of a recovery plan is to trust the physician and the therapist and follow their advice. GET MOVING Milligan says most injuries result from athletic or recreational sports, deterioration of physical health, and overall lack of mobility as we age. “A lot of injury prevention is understanding how lack of mobility leads to injury,” Milligan says. “A lot of us work at desks, sitting a majority of the day and don’t get the opportunity to be as mobile during the day. As we get older, muscles and joints stiffen and grow weaker if they are not used.” The best way to avoid future injuries is to make a plan to become more active by adding more activity to your day or engage in more vigorous exercise in something you enjoy. Roberts adds, “You have to make those changes with wisdom. A lot of times people injure themselves by pushing the envelope while they are trying to stay healthy.” For instance, an inactive person who tried to play basketball without warming up would be more likely to sustain an injury. Tom Roberts, MD, is a graduate of the LSU School of Medicine. He completed a residency and internship in Orthopedics from UAMS. After completing a one-year fellowship in Sports Medicine from LSU, he taught orthopedic surgery and sports medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Since moving to Conway, he has practiced orthopedics and sports medicine for 28 years. Beth Milligan completed her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas in 1994 and has worked as a physical therapist for Conway Regional for 25 years. Together, they have led thousands of patients through successful orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation.
