Historic Arkansas Museum Historic Arkansas Museum communicates the early history of Arkansas and its creative legacy by preserving, interpreting and presenting stories and objects for the education and enjoyment of the community and visitors. The museum collects Arkansas Made decorative and fine art from yesterday to today. Each item in the museum’s collection tells a story about Arkansas — about our hopes, our fears, what we valued and how we lived. When we save these objects, we save a piece of us.
Goals: 26 . JANUARY 2013
To raise money for our Arkansas Made fund that enables the museum to preserve our state’s cultural and creative legacy.
To see the Arkansas community taking ownership of its history and historic places — the things that make our state unique.
To increase participation in events, programs, membership, donations and social networking.
Event Calendar Fall 2013 The Candlelight Gala, the museum’s biennial fundraising dinner, raises money to purchase Arkansas Made art, furniture, quilts and pottery, as well as important historic documents and photographs, for the museum’s permanent collection.
