A WELLNESS APPROACH IN SFAX Reclaim Brownfield site Team: Location: Year: Software:
4
My personal project Sfax, Tunisia 2019 Revit, Photoshop, Lumion
This thesis work is an attempt to rediscover the scale of the Man lost in the city, by reconciling the [Mancity] report. This approach criticizes modernism consequences. In return, it proposes a healthy logic of architecture through a well-being approach in the city in order to improve the living environment of its users. Over years, Sfax has been transformed through its urban metamorphoses into an «unbalanced» city. The study of an urban fragment cut off from its users requires reflection. Through this approach, we opted for a revitalization of the area with a set of operations on the transformed urban space and a reappropriation of the abandoned industrial ‘Wheat Store’ in order to reconcile it with its environment based on already defined wellbeing principles. The intervention will be a requalification of the brownfield site ‘Wheat store’. The challenge is to keep the existing structure of the building, the spirit of the place and take advantage of its original principles in order to achieve a contemporary intervention. The intervention will have both a cultural and a social aspect as a response to the area users needs. That’s why it must be extremely integrated into its urban and social context. A meeting square will be the transition element between the urban and the building. The building is accessible through the large hall, animated by industrial exhibition, which distributes to the rest of the project. The project is animated by a multiplicity of activities: restoration, exhibition, outdoor play areas, a cafeteria, a library... An olive frame and a body of water creating the calm garden plays the thermal cooler role to the project and to the whole area.

FIVE STARS HOTEL Team: Location: Year: Software:
16
My personal project Tunis, Tunisia 2018 Revit, Photoshop, Lumion
It’s a design of a hotel in Gammarth-Tunis respecting the criteria of 5 stars classifications. It is a project located in a sloping ground of 14m height difference, privileged by a sea view and a forest view. The project’s idea was to have an implantation of two large parallelepipeds in a direction allowing to have all the rooms openings on the two different views. At the 65.5m level, the entrance to the Hotel is through the void between the two parallelepipeds, which facilitates distribution to the entire project. A total opening of the Lobby into the outdoor atmosphere of the swimming pool overlooks the forest. The direct connection between the swimming pool and collective spaces (lobby, restaurant, Bar) and their terraces provides an interactive atmosphere for the user. We used several dimensions of openings to frame the two views differently. A ‘Business - events’ block is located at a lower level with independent access from the outside. The block contains a multipurpose room, small rooms, a forum and a terrace with a therapeutic atmosphere. The access to services is at the lowest level of the project.

SEMI COLLECTIVE HOUSING Team: Location: Year: Software:
28
My personal project Gammarth, Tunis, Tunisia 2017 Revit, Photoshop, Lumion
It is a semi-collective housing design to accommodate 24 families living in uneven terrain of 15m difference in a natural landscape overlooking the sea. The project idea was to create a community atmosphere where each unit has its own private life. Inspired by the principle of the Arab Muslim Medina, the dwellings are all adjoining distributed over the whole of the land in a way to create public sharing plots connected by shaded passages. The layering of the volumes and their insertion on platforms facilitated integration into the topography and created views all over the field. The presence of the white color, the wooden texture and the vegetal element gave a belonging notion to the inhabitants, a harmony with the context and a purity. Each housing unit is accessible from public space, containing terraces on the roofs of the other units.
29
Step 0: -Sloping land of 15 meters
Step 1: - Principle of platform. - 2 Shaded access to the project - 3 meeting places that distribute plots to housing - Exchange platforms in the low level
Step 2: - Nesting of rectangles in 2 directions in order to have private entrances and terraces overlooking the sea. Placettes Platforms for exchange Shaded access
30

TABARKA CRUISE PORT CHALLENGE Design of new cruise port for Tabarka city Team: Location: Year: Software: Duration:
38
4 persons Tabarka, Tunisia 2019 Revit, Photoshop, Lumion 6 Days
This challenge aims to propose a new vision of Tabarka City through an integration of a new cruise port by proposing mobility strategies to improve the distribution of visitors flow in the city. We proposed a port far from the city in order to keep the beach atmosphere and to reach nine meters depth to park cruises. Morphologically, the new port is an extension of the two dikes of the old port in order to minimize the intervention cost. We have proposed two circuits for visitors. The first is from the arrival platform passing by the ledge to the city. The second circuit begins with a ride on a light pedestrian bridge crossing the old port to the landmarks. The addition of a new port is extremely linked to both the beach and the old port, that’s why, the intervention consists in proposing another reading of what exists in these two areas. We have proposed curved lines along the ledge which extend to the visitors’ arrival quay. The quay is connected to the beach through bleachers in the areas condensed by users. These lines allowed the tracing of a jetty making a promenade on the sea. We wove the intervention with the city through the extension of the existing tracks and essentially the main track. The redevelopment of the leisure spaces located between the city and the beach have enabled better visibility of the urban space and better spatiality. We have redeveloped the harbor maintenance space by transforming it into boating and exhibition space for open boats, therefore and after crossing the port by the pedestrian bridge, we find an arrival of Taxibus station to visit the Genoese fort, the needles and the basilicas.

1- The old port initial morphology and its location in the city and its distance from landmarks
2- The port design must ensure that the vessel is parked in deep waters to avoid dredging.
3- The design of the port must take into consideration the trajectory of ships arriving from the Mediterranean
4- Our reflection highlighted the existing beach.
5- The design of the new port must ensure the functioning of the old port.
6- Our idea is to design using the dikes of the existing port and extend them in order to have two structures that are both homogeneous and independent: an old port for small vessels and fishing boats and a new cruise port.
Circuit 1 The first circuit is a short trail that leads to the landmarks of Tabarka. Visitors begin their circuit by crossing a pedestrian bridge to arrive at a tourist taxi-bus station which represents a distribution point towards these landmarks. The walk and the contemplation of the landscape ÂŤsea, Genoese fort, mountainÂť during the crossing of the bridge is the privileged moment of this circuit.

Circuit 2 The second circuit is a trail that leads to the city. Visitors begin their tour by walking near the beach to arrive at the Tramway station which will be the starting point towards the city. Visitors have the choice of strolling through the old port, strolling on the beach, accessing the city via its main axis or arriving at the Taxi-bus station to discover the landscapes of Tabarka.

RAM AGORA 72H CHALLENGE
Redevelopment of the old port of Ghar El Melh Team: Location: Year: Software: Duration:

4 persons Ghar El Melh, Tunisia 2019 Revit, Photoshop, Lumion 6 Days
The challenge is to redevelop an old port in the village of Ghar Melh in Bizerte. The port represents an identity land for the inhabitants of the village. Moreover, it represents history (the Arsenal, the Andalusian walls), culture (fishing) and the landscape (mountain, sea). Our strategy to reactivate the port was to consider it as a meeting place between visitors and residents by highlighting the ruins, with the minimum cost and using bioclimatic architecture. Morphologically, the harbor basin contains a single connection to the sea. It contains two worthless buildings in the east: a cafe and a fisherman’s room. An arsenal of great heritage value, occupied by the squatters, which overlooks a poorly appointed plot. The port is connected to the city by two entrances to the esplanade. This port is protected by a ruined wall to the south and west. Architecturally, an unifying envelope was proposed above the two buildings in the east. The envelope contains a rhythm of arcades as a reinterpretation of the Arsenal frontage. Functionally, this part has become a fish market and a gourmet restaurant. The boundaries of the esplanade were blurred with a fine layout by transforming it into a public square interconnected with the arsenal. A restoration of the arsenal with a contemporary touch was made and an integration of the functions of consumption and exhibition to highlight these ruins. Behind the wall in the south, floating reed cabins have been proposed which present spaces for contemplation and consumption.

AUTISTS AND ARTISTS 48H CHALLENGE Convert an old villa into an autism center Team: Location: Year: Software: Duration:
60
5 persons Marsa, Tunis, Tunisia 2018 Revit, Photoshop, Lumion 2 Days
It’s a competition to design an autism center for ‘El Fourat’ association by redeveloping an old villa in La Marsa in Tunis. The client demanded a varied program that includes indoor and outdoor spaces dedicated to autistic people, a consumption space and a cinema to make the center profitable. A living unit is demanded by the president of the association and her autistic son. Our approach is to bring people closer to the autism world. For this, the idea is articulated along the path of the visitor animated by a succession of sequences from the outside towards the meeting with the autist inside the project. We kept the existing structure of the villa by taking advantage of the design of the old wrought iron, the old ceramic interior tiling, some old furniture and the small brick vaults in the roof in order to make a contemporary architecture that puts in value the existing one. The visitor’s journey begins with the discovery of the autism world through the visualization of dynamic displays presented in a dimly lit passage. A cinema and cafeteria will be at the start of the route with a strong connection to the outside. Then there will be eye and physical contact with autistic people who are learning or playing indoors or outdoors. The route ends with an acceptance interaction between the visitor and the autist.

1-The land contains two separate volumes in the DRC
2- A journey that prepares the visitor to meet the autistic was the heart of the reflection.
3-A passage will be the first encounter with the world of autism.
4- The first outdoor space will be the first visual contact with autism.
5-The trail goes through the autism learning room to ensure physical contact with the autistic
6- The second outdoor space will be for interaction between autists and visitors.
7- The location of the autistic room allows autistic people to always be outside.
8- The transparency of the spaces on the ground floor is intended to immerse autistic people outside. The floor was a living cell.

2 persons Sfax ,Tunisia 2020 Revit, Photoshop, Lumion 6 Days
It is a competition to design a regional archive branch in Sfax. The program contains a block for administrative offices and a second block for storing the archive. For this, the idea was to have two volumes (one for administrative offices and a second for archive storage) with a patio for ventilation. Each block has its own entrance. The openings in lengths inscribed in a square module made it possible to form a simple and inexpensive main facade.
