The idiom of the AYTM universe is simple and stylish shapes and sculptural structures of Scandinavian interior classics that stands out by being bold, voluminous and eye-catching. The sole purpose of AYTM’s existence is to reinvent and challenge design traditions and give interior design a new perspective through a more expressive and international approach to Scandinavian design.

The contrasts between clean lines, materials and surfaces, and with a balanced and soft palette of colours is where the magic happens, adding a unique touch to AYTM.

With this, the essence of every AYTM collection is focussed on high quality and exquisite details for an exclusive feeling yet long-lasting pieces in terms of functionality and aesthetic expressions.

The AYTM brand

Created by Kathrine and Per Gran Hartvigsen.

The story of AYTM begins in 2015 in Aarhus, Denmark and the roots of the brand are tightly anchored in Danish and Scandinavian design heritage. Behind the brand is the couple, Kathrine and Per Gran Hartvigsen, who successfully has run the company Gran Living ApS since 2004. AYTM is a part of Gran Living as its own signature brand.

The name is a wordplay on the word »item« and is pronounced exactly as such, where the logo is a visual and circular fusion of the letters A-Y-T-M. The expression of GLOBE is linked to the simplicity of the AYTM logo – and being among one of our very first items, GLOBE vase holds a special place in the becoming of the AYTM universe.

Product production

We work in close collaboration with our suppliers and believe that high quality is not just a matter of the material but also of great craftsmanship. We therefore seek specialized productions for each of our products. Many of our products are handmade and each of these items are unique. We participate in the Amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), the leading global business association for open and sustainable trade. BSCI monitors our supply chain and ensures social compliance such as

decent working hours, fair pay, health- and safety standards – and guarantees that no child labour or discrimination takes place in our supply chain. Social standards, especially the fight against child labour, are of a special importance to us. GoodWeave is an organization fighting child-, forced-, and bonded labour in the rug industry. Being a part of this organization is significant to us and all our rugs and doormats are GoodWeave certified.

CSR standards

Since 2015, we have been members of the UN Global Compact and are working with the 10 principles on human rights, labour rights, environmental protection and of course anti-corruption. With a strong sense of respect and responsibility for our planet and fellow human beings, we want to contribute to sustainable development wherever we can.

We feel a deep connection to nature as a source of inspiration and energy and are therefore a part of FSC®. FSC® is an organization promoting viable forest management worldwide. For us, the FSC® label is a quality label that ensures legal and responsible use of forests and social standards for the workers and the production of our products.

The SESSIO tray is a stunning and functional tray that comes in two colours and sizes. With a deep respect towards, and with a passion to protect our planet, the tray is produced with FSC® certified wood. As this is a natural material, minor variations in colour and shape may occur, which makes each tray unique.

CASTELLUM LED lamp is inspired by the Danish church Grundtvigskirken. The powder coated steel gives the lamp a solid finish, representing the strength and stability of church portals. The design of SEMPER arises in the hands of Nicklas Bang Christensen, who forms the pieces as he selects the materials, which is the core of his design process and artistry. A masculine family of chairs that works with a sharp geometry in a striking contrast to their softness, elegance and almost female touch in the curved ovals of the seat and

back, which creates the comfort of these chairs. SEMPER are visual statements that radiate geometric shapes, as shown by the slender framing, beautiful leather seats and divine golden details of both the dining chair and lounge chair. The word LUCEO means to shine and in this family of lamps, the cool mix of glass and metal gives a playful expression.
