About our universe WHERE THE AYTM MAGIC HAPPENS

The idiom of the AYTM universe is simple and sculptural shapes and structures of Scandinavian interior classics that are reinvented with AYTM magic. Every collection stands out with their bold, voluminous and eye-catching design language, as they challenge design traditions, contributing to a new perspective through a more expressive and international approach to Scandinavian design.

The contrasts between clean lines, materials and balanced palette of colours is where the magic happens, adding the unique touch of AYTM. The story of AYTM ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE CITY OF SMILES

The story of AYTM begins in 2015 in Aarhus, the City of Smiles, and the roots of the brand are tightly anchored in Danish and Scandinavian design heritage.

The creators behind the brand is couple Kathrine and Per Gran Hartvigsen who successfully has run the company Gran Living ApS since 2004. AYTM is a part of Gran Living as its own signature brand.

The name is a wordplay on the word »item« and is pronounced exactly as such, where the logo is a visual and circular fusion of the letters A-Y-T-M.

The CSR standards COOPERATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Since 2015, we have been members of the UN Global Compact and are working with the 10 principles on human rights, labour rights, environmental protection and of course anti-corruption.

With a strong sense of respect and responsibility for our planet and fellow human beings, we want to contribute to sustainable development wherever we can.

This is why we participate in the Amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). BSCI monitors our supply chain and ensures social compliance such as decent working hours, fair pay, health- and safety standards – and guarantees that no child labour or discrimination takes place in our supply chain.

Furthermore, we are members of GoodWeave and FSC® (FSC®-C163241) certified. GoodWeave is an organization fighting child- , forced-, and bonded labour in the rug industry.

Our rugs and doormats have the GoodWeave label and we therefore support the fight against child labour in the global supply chains.

FSC® is an organization promoting viable forest management worldwide. For us, the FSC® label is a quality label that ensures social standards for the workers and responsible use of forests and the production of our FSC® certified items.

The AYTM design team THE ART OF DESIGNING WITH AYTM

Every design and collection created are the product of unique skills and close collaboration. Our in-house design team of great creative minds, who each bring their own indispensable talents to the table, work closely together to achieve original and inspiring products in the best quality and high standards of AYTM. It is truly a team effort that becomes visible in all our collaborations.

In addition to the designs created by the AYTM design team, we also work with external and truly talented designers, who have brought their own touch to the AYTM collection – and much like our own design team, these designers are engaged in the creation and art of designing.

As we evolve, so does the AYTM collection and our items are the results of the ever-changing world and interior design trends.

Storytelling is therefore an important part of the design process, as the writing highlights each item and make them come alive with personality and character.

AYTM offers more than just a collection of products. We offer a tale for every item and sprinkle with a little AYTM magic to form an understanding of the design language, materials and the entire AYTM brand.

The expression of GLOBE is linked to the simplicity of the AYTM logo – and being among one of our very first items, GLOBE vase holds a special place in the becoming of the AYTM universe.

MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL WHO IS THE FAIREST OF THEM ALL?

Our CIRCUM mirror is, like the GLOBE vase, an interior classic.

With CIRCUM mirror, you will always have the most beautiful reflection in your home. CIRCUM is an elegant addition to any room due to its slim-round frame and tinted glass that creates a dramatic yet cozy effect. Mirrors have surpassed their function as they also hang like pieces of art on the wall, which is truly the essence of our CIRCUM mirror.

The CURVA family is a great example of high functional products, where the CURVA stool works as both a table and shelf on the wall. FLOWERS ALL YEAR LONG WITH FLORES The FLORES rug is also a multifunctional item of ours that looks incredible as a decoration on the wall or centerpiece on the floor. Tulips have been the main inspiration for FLORES rug that is created in stunning New Zealand Wool. The unique surfaces and incredible colour combinations of the flower are beautifully adapted in the characteristic rug that gives you flowers all year long.

Unique items THE UNIQUENESS OF ARURA

We work in close collaboration with our suppliers and believe that high quality is not just a matter of the material but also of great artistry. We therefore seek specialized productions for each of our products. Many of our products are handmade and each of these items are unique.

This is especially the case with ARURA, which mouth blown, coloured glass, exclusive style and divine detailing highlights the authenticity and uniqueness of each item. ARURA is an accessories family of the popular vases, dispensers and storage boxes that are great examples of eccentric design that comes from playing with dimensions. All ARURA vases are made of mouth blown glass, where the nature of the material and mouth blowing technique means that each vase is beautifully unique – and stands as forever-pieces in your home.

THE REFLECTING FEELING OF SPECULUM The functionality in the designs of AYTM is too visible in the SPECULUM mirror table. SPECULUM is among the first items in our collection and has been extended in to numerous tables in different colours, shapes and sizes.

SPECULUM mirror tables are much more than boxes of mirrors, but pieces of design that are suitable as coffee tables for the living room or side tables for the bedroom. Furthermore, SPECULUM stands as a work of art when several tables are stacked together.

Award winning items AND THE AWARD GOES TO…

AYTM designs have over the years won different awards within the interior design industry. On the following pages, we recap these awards, which we are all truly proud of and grateful for.

CASTELLUM LED lamp is inspired by the Danish church Grundtvigskirken. The powder coated steel gives the lamp a solid finish, representing the strength and stability of church portals. The gold-plated ball functions as the ON/OFF switch.

Raising the ball will increase the light gradually – and your room will be shining like the sun.

STATEMENT OF THE JURY The design of the CASTELLUM LED lamp is a beautiful example of the playful approach to classical sacred architecture and makes the beautiful lamp an eye-catcer in any interior.

We want to contribute to significant moments in life by offering products that makes it easier, more convenient and ambient to be more outside. This is the essence of the NOVO furniture designed by Rasmus Falkenberg.

STATEMENT OF THE JURY The filigree styling of the table looks pleasantly lightweight and timelessly modern. The golden connections are a beautiful detail, which also featured on the chairs and in this way elegantly illustrate the coherence of the series.
