In April don’t remove any thread, In May do as you please. This proverb means that it can still be cold in APRIL, so just wait for MAY to wear lighter clothes , otherwise you will catch a cold .

This proverb means that in life if you do good, you will receive good, and if you do evil, evil will return to you. Therefore, it is not advisable to generate inconveniences and conflicts (wind), because you will end up with uglier things (storm).

8. Toamna se numără bobocii.

-Romania-

….. Don’t count the chickens before they are hatched.

The meaning of this proverb is that only at the end of an activity can the result of somebody’s efforts be appreciated. In Romanian the word boboci can refer to flower buds or the babies of a duck or goose. The birds hatch in summer after a hatching period of 4-5 weeks. However, not all the chicks that hatch survive, only up to 70 %. Therefore, the chicks are counted in autumn, when they have become more resistant. With reference to people, it indicates that the results of somebody’s work are seen at the end.

Slovakia

Meaning: you cannot have one thing without another. So, without wind, waves cannot exist. For example, if there are rumors, they are usually based on true events and can be correct from time to time - there has to be something that sparked those rumors.
