Spirits of greed, envy, hatred, mistrust, sorrow, anger, revenge, lust, and despair scattered far and wide looking for humans to torment. Inside the box, however, there was also an unreleased healing spirit named Hope.

Elpis (Hope) appears in ancient Greek mythology with the story of Zeus and Prometheus. Prometheus stole fire from the god Zeus, which infuriated the supreme god. In turn, Zeus created a box that contained all manners of evil to the receiver of the box. Pandora opened the box after being warned not to, and unleashed a multitude of harmful spirits that inflicted plagues, diseases, and illnesses on mankind.

Τότε ελευθερώθηκαν στον κόσμο, ανεξέλεγκτα πια, τα μεγάλα δεινά: λιμοί, αρρώστιες και τρέλα. Με τη βοήθεια ενός θεού η Πανδώρα έκλεισε το κουτί και πρόλαβε να κρατήσει το μοναδικό αντίδοτο που έκανε πλέον την ανθρώπινη δυστυχία υποφερτή: την ελπίδα

Σύμφωνα με το μύθο της Πανδώρας, πριγκίπισσας της αρχαίας Ελλάδας, οι θεοί τής έκαναν δώρο ένα μυστηριώδες κουτί από ζήλεια για την ομορφιά της. Την είχαν όμως προειδοποιήσει να μην ανοίξει ποτέ το κουτί. Μια μέρα η Πανδώρα δεν άντεξε τον πειρασμό και νικημένη από την περιέργειά της να δει τι είχε μέσα το κουτί έχασε τον αυτοέλεγχό της και άνοιξε το καπάκι του.
