AZRE FORUM PANELISTS

Joe Strobbe

Vice president

Brinkmann Constructors

BACKGROUND: Strobbe oversees operations in the Arizona market for Brinkmann Constructors. The national general contractor — focusing on private commercial development in multifamily, industrial, senior living and more — recently opened an office in Scottsdale after working in the area for several years. Strobbe has more than 20 years of experience in construction and executive leadership and focuses on continuing to grow Brinkmann’s presence, team and opportunities in the Southwest as well as day-to-day operations of the Arizona office. His insight of the industry and passion for advocating for Brinkmann’s clients have positioned him to make an impact and help strengthen the community.

IMPORTANCE OF AZRE FORUM: “I feel it is import for various business sectors to be highlighted on a regular basis in forms such as the AZRE Forum. The more information our local business leaders can provide to the overall community, the better. This promotes a more informed industry and helps arm the leaders within the community with valuable knowledge they can leverage while decided which direction they will lead their business.”

TREND TO WATCH: “From a construction perspective, we are focusing in on three areas of our business in 2024: hard costs, available manpower (specifically in the mechanical and electrical trades), and material/equipment lead times. The demand for housing, commercial and industrial buildings in Phoenix is still extremely high, but with the macroeconomic financial climate, some of our clients have elected to put projects on the shelf in hopes that hard cost or interest rates will decline.”

SOURCE OF PRIDE: “Being tapped by Brinkmann Constructors to open and grow their Arizona/Southwest operations. Being able to be surrounded by ambitious hard working men and women, having the privilege to lead them, and offer them a culture that supports their passion for problem solving and innovating. The construction industry attracts some of the hardest working people in the country and I enjoy removing their roadblocks and watching what they can accomplish.”
