Nature-Inspired Edgewood Residences at SkySanctuary

Edgewood Residences, which will have 960 units in two 42-storey blocks, is a “lifestyle” condominium project located at the nature-inspired township with a three-acre park called SkySanctuary, located in the Setapak suburb of Kuala Lumpur. The project, with a gross development value of RM508 million, may be leasehold but it has the advantage of having a residential land title, unlike most other projects which are serviced apartments with commercial titles. A residential title often translates to lower utility bills, lower quit rent and lower assessment fees. When the project’s Tower B was launched in May last year, its take-up rate was almost 90 per cent, despite the on-going

COVID-19 pandemic. Encouraged by the good response, the developer, SkyWorld Development, released Tower A for booking at the start of this year. Edgewood Residences is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2024. The project offers a comprehensive range of amenities, including a sky lounge, infinity pool, spa pool, sauna, reading room, a gym with full-glass walls overlooking the park, mini cinema, aerobics/yoga room, games room, a grand entrance at the guard house, and electric vehicle charging bays, among many others. Residents will have the convenience of booking condo

facilities or registering their visitors using their smartphones. There is even an “automated” waste management system for residents’ convenience. The wide range of amenities would be suitable for three-generation families while the focus will be on promoting community living and sustainability. For example, the cinema allows residents to enjoy movies with friends and family while the co-sharing space at the facilities podium allows residents to find their own private getaway away outside their unit.

“Not many developments on the outskirts of KL have an outdoor space like this. The facilities provided are also good to have in the post-pandemic era. For example, the cinema allows residents to enjoy movies with only friends and family. There is also a co-sharing space at the facilities podium, which helps residents to [escape] distractions at home.

The interior layouts come in three variations, Type A with three bedrooms and two baths (865 and 911 sq ft), Type B with three bedrooms and two baths (1,047 and 1,096 sq ft), and lastly Type C with three-plus-one bedrooms and two baths (1,225 and 1,280 sq ft). Prices ranged between RM440,000 and RM703,000 during the first-phase launch last May.

The unit interior is mostly wide and shallow with large balconies so they appear even more spacious. The large balconies also improve air quality and allows the interior to receive more natural light.

The entire SkySanctuary township is spread across a 40-acre land with its own resident-only Central Park, an autumn park, a blossom park, a lake and a commercial area. Edgewood Residences is just the first of four other high-rise residential condominium projects to be developed in stages, with the fifth one being lowrise residential villas. The SkySanctuary township is expected to be completed in eight years.
