SAN LEONARDO “BIG FISH” ZONE
Flowing waters The Noce River, together with its tributaries that include the Vermigliana, Rabbies and Meledrio streams, are the main watercourses in Val di Sole, which are constantly repopulated with fry and 6-9 cm young trout that come from the hatchery in Cavizzana. To protect local fish species, each year, the Val di Sole Fishing Association produces 400,000 Marble and Brown Trout wild stock eggs at the hatchery. They are then released and placed in the headwaters and small tributaries of the various streams, guaranteeing their natural development. Some areas are repopulated with adult Brown Trout.
LAKES The Lago dei Caprioli lake located in the Fazzon area and the Pian Palù lake (both can be easily reached) are also repopulated with adult trout. There are other 10 mountain lakes that can be reached on foot, which are populated by marvellous Arctic Char and Brown Trout. OPEN: May – October NO-KILL ZONES & RESERVOIRS 4 NO KILL zones with wild trout for artificial fly fishing NK3 – Torrente Vermigliana (stream) – Fucine 1.3 km of clear water in spring and autumn, slightly cloudy in summer.
