Call for Artists!!

From the Editor: Welcome to the first issue of Basic Art Magazine. This is the magazine for upcoming artists and designers to show off their works to the world. Often new artists are emerging and have no place to show off their work. Well it is the intention of this publication to allow many people to have access to the works of new artists. I want to stress new in the term new artists because it does not mean that they have just started in the art world. It simply means that they have not received large scale publication in prior years. So where do we get our art for this publication? Well it is sent into us by the artists themselves as they often do not have managers to do the work of submissions for them. In fact if you have some works that you want to get some attention you can submit them to our publication editor and we will review them for publication.

clude information on yourself such as a bio about your arts how you got started in the arts and a good contact email address for any questions we may have. Submissions should go to allanzieser@gmail.com with the subject line of Basic Art Magazine. From time to time we will contact artists to get interviews for the publication. Also you may want to include any links to web sites or art sites you may belong to so that others who are interested in your works may contact you. A photo of you would also be helpful if you wish it to be published with your works, we understand that some people do not like to have their photos published, but it will help people to connect with you in the publication.

Will you become famous for getting into this publica- So again I wish you a fond welcome to our publication? Most likely not, however any publicity is good tion and remember art is about expression and havpublicity for an artist who is starting out in the world. ing fun! Basic Art Magazine Do you need to be formally trained or hold a degree Editor to get published in Basic? No in fact many of the artists we will be covering have very little or no formal training. Practice is more critical than training in a majority of the arts that are out here in the world. What should I send in? Well for any publication we need images of your works preferably in .PNG format and at least 150 to 300 dpi when possible. We would also like to have a bit of information on how you created the works and what programs or tools and materials you prefer to use. Be sure to in-

Flower 0954 Allan Zieser 2015

Created in Illustrator CC current version. I like to use geometric patterns in my works. The feeling of completeness that occurs from a successfully engineered geometric design is magical at times. I have worked in many forms of media over the years, including all of the standards, but illustrator is by far my favorite medium to design new patterns.
