Live on Instagram! Donuts & Dialogue in November 2021 was our very first ASID event to be live on Instagram. Pella Window & Door hosted 25 attendees in their beautifully appointed Scottsdale showroom. This highly informative and equally enjoyable social media presentation by Miranda Gwilliam and her team, revealed the social media tools used most successfully by Rug Worx in their daily business. With an impressive 680 thousand followers across the social media channels and 49 million views of their most viewed video, Miranda discussed the importance of understanding the various platforms and defining your goals for your brand. Miranda’s most ardent advice: “having a strategy and knowing your end goals are key to social media success.”

Start with the 5 Ws:

• Who? Define and understand your target audience

• What? Identify your product/service

• When? Post regularly and consistently (Stories, Reels, Lives)

• Where? Decide on your platform (eg: Instagram)

• Why? Know your motivation and targeted results

Know your end goal(s). There are many reasons to use social media, for example:

• Show your expertise

• Education

• Increase number of followers

• Create referral sources

• Find new customers

Use tools available:

• Edit with InShot app

• Use music from TikTok & IG

• Hashtags from Flick.tech

• Micro influencers

• Facebook Private Groups

• IG Reels

• Pinterest

• Going live

While the presentation was fast paced with a lot of information to digest, Miranda and her team made it fun and exciting. They had all of us liking, following, sharing and considering our next content rich post before we said our goodbyes.
