DESCRIPTION: Stream channel stabilization is the reconstruction or restoration of a reach of stream. It may involve channel realignment, grade control, and the use of bank stabilization structures. LOAD REDUCTION MECHANISM: Sediment Reduction – Bank stabilization, grade control, and or channel realignment reduce the amount of sediment that is transported into adjacent streams.
