Stakeholders’ meeting in Brussels (14/03/2018)
The celebration of the first stakeholders meeting led to important issues which will help to the final implementation of the projects. Discussion and comments revolved mainly around the need of better use of protein use and the upgrading of new ingredients digestibility. The main aquafeed producers pointed out that enzymatic hydrolysis helps to increase the digestibility and subsequently, the commercial value of the final developed aquafeeds. Hence, hydrolysed ingredients are being additionally developed. Both non-hydrolysed and hydrolysed are being tested in fish growth trails with all fish species. Other results…
✓ New high value valorisation alternatives for the secondary products in breweries could increase the value and competitiveness of the brewing sector. ✓ Need of rapid stabilization drying systems to minimize by-products transportation cost and to guarantee the final quality of the developed ingredients. ✓ Extraction of high-value compounds such as peptides during the enzymatic process contribute to increase the value of the by-product.
