WE ARE PROUD. proud is a non-profit organization, whose sole purpose is to further the advancement of LGBTQ+ tolerance and acceptance. We live in a world were progression is at an all time high; and yet it is still plagued by hatred, fear, ignorance, discrimination and misinformation. Our remedy is simple. Love, acceptance, inclusion, and education. With the help of others, we aim to spread these remedies to the general public; with some focus on parents, friends, or associates of anyone in the LGBTQ+ community.
I AM PROUD. Growing up gay in a very religious household, I’ve heard it all. Every person I surrounded myself with had something negative to say about being gay, and the more I listened, the more I believed them to be true. With so many stereotypes and stigmas floating around, they slowly get ingrained in our heads, and become the norm. Identity issues arise in our times of confusion, and we end up feeling alone. I want to remind everyone We are not alone.
