FUCKUP NIGHT FOR #GIVINGTUESDAY hosted by AzuKo & Impact Hub King’s Cross
SOCIAL IMPACT DESIGNERS WHO’VE FAILED AND THRIVED
What’s it all about? A mash-up of two global campaigns... for one night only! FUCKUP NIGHTS
#GIVINGTUESDAY
@FuckupNight / @FUN_LDN
@givingtuesdayuk
Fuckup Nights are events to talk about professional failure.
#GivingTuesday is the global day of giving.
The concept evolved in Mexico City in 2012, a mezcal-infused conversation in Oaxaca between five friends who wanted to break free from the stigmas surrounding ‘failure’.
After the madness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is an opportunity to come together to show the world why it’s good to give.
Each speaker is given 7 minutes and 10 images. There’s a Q&A session, as well as time for networking (beers).
The simple idea is to encourage people, charities and businesses to donate time, money or their voice to help a good cause.
What’s it in aid of? 100% of the money raised tonight is going to AzuKo’s current project delivering improved sanitation and drainage to a slum in Bangladesh.
“I want to practice photojournalism not only as a profession, but as a social service itself.”
