Cover Letter Writing*
The Career Consultant will go over the basic components of a cover letter that are appropriate for the position you seek and help you brainstorm your best examples to highlight.
Mock Interview / Interview Prep
The Career Consultant will conduct and review a practice interview that is appropriate to the type of interview you have or the Career Consultant will provide basic interview tips, review basic interview questions, go over how best to answer questions using the STAR method, and provide sample questions related to your position of interest.
Job Search*
The Career Consultant will review strategies and tools for the job search or career advancement. Since 80% of jobs are obtained through networks and contacts, the Career Consultant will focus on teaching you how to develop strategies to create a network.
Internship Search*
The Career Consultant will provide resources to help you obtain an appropriate internship for your required class or your own career development. The Career Consultant will also discuss the types of internships that would be most beneficial for your future career goals.
The Career Consultant will discuss the benefits of using LinkedIn throughout one’s career, assist in building a profile that can be found by recruiters, and go over how to engage effectively to expand your network.
