BROWNS OXFORD ABOUT US Browns Oxford, set near the centre of ‘that sweet city with her dreaming spires’, was the second branch of Browns to open. It has become a landmark in the city, an institution not quite as ancient as the university’s world-famous colleges, but one which has nonetheless stood the test of time. For many years the building was a Morris garage, which was converted into one of the first of its kind: an English brasserie. And the scene out of the windows is also pure England: across the road is the church of St Giles, the church hall and a characterful terrace of 18th century houses. But we’re also just a 5 minute walk away from the busy centre of the city. With the cosmopolitan district of Jericho just around the corner, Browns sits at the crossroads of Oxford City Centre. Browns… an institution, a legend, an experience never to forget.
OFFERS Our menu is designed to embody the classic flavours of Great British food with a modern twist. Offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with a la carte appetizers and starters through to fish and meat courses and dangerously indulgent desserts, the choice is endless. There is something for everyone and any occasion too, whether you are looking for a light lunch, treating yourself to an afternoon tea or planning a big celebration. In addition to our classic menu, we offer a range of Plats du Jour which change every day and include a Soup of the Day, a Vegetarian Special and the Fish of the Day which keep the menu fresh and interesting. Each day brings a new flavour to Browns, a perfect example is our delicious lobster dishes served every Thursday offering you a fabulous night out. Our drinks menu includes an extensive selection of wines and lovely cocktails, tailored to meet any mood or occasion.

LONDON OXFORD AIRPORT ABOUT US London Oxford Airport is the Thames Valley area’s primary regional and business aviation airport - the only commercial airport between London Heathrow (LHR) and Birmingham (BHX). Located in the heart of one of Europe’s fastest growing and most prosperous regions, Oxford lies 40 miles to the north-west of the Greater London area, halfway to the UK’s industrial heartland of the Midlands. The airport has been the fastest growing for private and business aviation in the UK since 2007. Seven miles to the north of the City of Oxford with easy access to the M40 motorway, Oxford Airport provides a unique and unusual venue for hosting events, meetings and conferences. Utilising the new oxfordjet executive terminal built in 2008, often with a backdrop of several private jets and occasionally larger airliners, the airport offers a discreet, upmarket environment in which to host an event.
OFFERS If contemplating any hospitality or launch event, flights can be arranged in both light fixed wing aircraft, helicopters and even flight simulators, just steps away from the facility. The oxfordjet facility is used to hosting heads of state, royalty and celebrities who fly through the airport. We also offer a fantastic 'combined event': Exclusive hire of the Vitesse Lounge VIP wing may be arranged for an evening with a difference, where celebrity jets of all sizes arrive and depart just beyond the windows. This, combined with the oxfordjet reception lobby, runway-view Oxford Crew Lounge, the two well-appointed crew suites, private restrooms (plus the Brabazon and Catalina Rooms on request) may be arranged for superb private functions that encapsulate the private luxury travel experience for an evening to remember… perhaps even with your very own jet parked outside for an opulent post-function get-away.

BODLEIAN LIBRARY ABOUT US Oxford libraries are among the most celebrated in the world. Not only for their incomparable collections of books and manuscripts, but also for their buildings, some of which have remained in continuous use since the Middle Ages. The Bodleian Library is chief amongst the University’s libraries and dates back to 1488 with its first 300 books donated by Humfrey, Duke of Gloucester. Over the last 400 years it has expanded to become the second-largest library in the UK after the British Library with over 11 million volumes on 120 miles of shelving. Located in the centre of Oxford, surrounded by spacious tranquil quadrangles, the Bodleian Library is the very heart of the historic University.

BLACKWELL’S BOOKSHOP ABOUT US When Benjamin Blackwell opened the door of number 50 Broad Street for the first time on 1st January 1879, the site was only a small part of the whole building. It was a tiny space 12 foot by 12 foot with room for one standing customer and one chair. If two or more customers wished to browse at the same time Mr Blackwell or his apprentice needed to step out to make room! Though his choice of site could not have been better. The shop lies at the heart of Oxford with the Sheldonian Theatre just across the road and the Bodleian close by. Today Blackwell UK is the leading academic bookseller in the UK and has over 40 outlets across England, Scotland and Wales. Its staff continue to be renowned for their expertise, depth of knowledge and love of books, over 132 years after Mr. Blackwell's 'little shop' first opened its door.
OFFERS Bawden Mural – We are privileged to have a wonderful large scale mural painted by the artist Edward Bawden, and completed in 1973. It depicts key Oxford buildings, as well as figures from British history. Walking Tours – Our experienced tour guide holds regular tours of Oxford city centre, as well as the shop itself. See our first bookshelves, the fabulous Norrington Room, and Basil Blackwell's office, where Dorothy L. Sayers worked as his assistant, kept in its original condition. Contacts with World-Class Authors- We have a full schedule of author events throughout the year, and regularly arrange book signings, talks, book launches and receptions. We have great contacts with both publishers and authors, and are often able to organise a speaker for outside events. We are also able to sell books at outside venues.

AZIZ RESTAURANT ABOUT US Aziz has been going for over two decades and it is no surprise that its blend of Indian and Bangladeshi flavours and good, honest service has proved a winner. All three of us agreed that our lunch was simply excellent and a world away from the formulaic and heavy sauces which characterise many Indian restaurants in the UK. Humans are creatures of habit and many of us stick to our favourite restaurants year in, year out. However we recommend that you break out of your eating comfort zone and head over to Cowley, Oxford!
