Cuban-born model and actress, she has classified among the final contestants of Miss World and has been the testimonial for various fashion brands. She began her modeling career for the biggest fashion houses of New York and Milan, these including GianFranco Ferrè, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Diesel, Richmond and Ralph Lauren. She is now engaged in an international film project signed between Italy, Holland and Ireland.

Milan-based professional photographer, graduated in Architecture and specialised in interior design. Since 2013, his passion for photography has become a full-time commitment: he has been collaborating with publishing houses such as Mondadori, Hearst Magazine and Cairo Editore, for which he has shot two calendars for magazine For Men with models Dayane Mello in 2015 and Raffaella Modugno in 2017. Currently he is the official photographer for Playboy Italia.

Graduated in Fashion Cultures and Techniques BA , he is now majoring in Fashion Culture MA at University of Bologna, where he works as academic tutor in the undergraduate programs . He strongly believes in the cultural value of fashion and his interests turn around to how fashion represents the sociocultural development through its materiality. “Fashion matters!” is his motto.

After graduating in History at the University of Bologna, she decides to enrol to IIAM - the Italian Institute of Art&Makeup based in Bologna, where she obtains the highest grade with honour, and she receives a special award for the artistic and chromatic sensitivity. With a specialization in corrective, artistic and photographic make-up, she collaborates with stylists and photographers to edit and realize books, editorial services and fashion shows.

TEZENIS FASHION SHOW

On the 4th April of 2017, the auditorium of Calzedonia Group has turned into a “desert of lights” where the Summer’s Fashion show by Tezenis has taken the flavour of an international music festival. This visionary presentation show for the Summer 2017 collection has represented a kaleidoscopic journey into TEZENIS’ summer concept. The event has included a high-impact setting made with sand and desert dunes, with the accompanying sound of a maxi radio, which recalls the origins of the brand – the music – and which is also the hidden door from where the top models and special per formers have entered the catwalk. Freedom becomes a leitmotiv feeling, accompanying us during our holidays and travels on the road. Freedom is also the concept taking the top models into the catwalk – not like in a simple fashion show -, but in a true theatrical per formance of colours, music and per formers’ talents. Colour has been one of the main “actors” in the event, with strong and vivid nuances characterizing the entire collection. In the same way, the models’ make-up and hairstyling (by COTR IL) have been enriched with tones and volumes, while the setting has been illuminated by neon psychedelic lights – a true chromatic charm.

A KALEIDOSCOPIC COLLECTION BY ALEF

For the next winter season, Alef obser ves aesthetic s through a kaleidoscope, focusing on the colours and textures of leather materials. The Northern Lights become a creative idea – its colours and iridescence are the starting point for the chromatic range of its collection. In addition to valuable leathers – the distinctive feature of this brand -, the collection includes a new technical material with a special texture that reflects light by obtaining a changing iridescent effect. The brand’s iconic elements are thus transformed into per fect items for luxury events. Pouch bags and shopping shoulder bags are all made unique for the next cold season, thanks to vivid colours such as the red, the yellow and the green.

KARTELL À LA MODE & PAULA CADEMARTORI

The collaboration continues for the Autumn-Winter 2017/2018 season. The collaboration between Kartell à la mode and the Italian-Brazilian designer Paula Cademartori – founder of the same-name luxury brand of bags and shoes – continues with new proposals for the next Autumn-Winter 2017/2018 season too. In particular, the new line has proposed the ‘Rosas’ model: this rigid clutch bag defines transparency and the collection-unique decorations in a new way. On the other hand, the ‘Barbarella’ model reinterprets the rainy boots in an Urban chic style with floral applications: a clear natural reference towards far distant and exotic lands, a strong appeal to “warm up” the cold season. Flowers are indeed the leitmotiv for the collaboration between Kartell and Paula Cademartori, a choice recalling the common values of both brands, which are inspired by an ironic and colourful mood, while continuously searching for details, quality and style. The new line is thus giving continuity to this partnership which was started last year with the Spring-Summer 2017 collection, including the ‘Parati’ bag, and the ‘Claudia’ sandals. In addition, the collection intends to expand the variety of Kartell à la mode’s division, that was born in 2008, and it was dedicated to the production and marketing of fashion accessories, in cooperation with the most prestigious stylists in the fashion system.

CHANEL GOES INTO SPACE

A rocket was at the centre of the scenic design for the launch of the new FW2017-2018 collection by Chanel. Kaiser Karl Lager feld has indeed envisaged astral scenarios, in harmony with the style of the collection. The current trend is thus confirmed – the wish of travelling into space. The journey is described though simple quotations or prints. The shuttle with the iconic double “C” is at the centre of the catwalk, surrounded by super chic spacewomen who walk in by showing off a traditional tailleur in glitter-finished tweed. The futuristic touch is finished with metal glares and with glitter or laminated accessories. Alternatively to the classic Chanel suit, Karl Lager feld proposes tunic s over miniskirt or bermuda shorts.

Milan’s White Show re-confirms its vocation towards research.

During the last edition of the event that has taken place between 25th and 27th of February, White Show Milan has brought on stage a combination of 511 brands at the Tortona Fashion District, over an exhibition surface which was 11% larger, if compared to the previous edition. As a total, the surface area has been of 20,000 sqm, and the exhibition has been divided into three different locations, along Via

The project has been denominated MIAC (“Moda Italiana Aziende Contemporary” - “Italian Fashion Contemporary Enterprises”) with the objective of identifying, and subsequently launching the best fashion collections by Italian artisans into the market. The exhibition path has been designed on the basis of an aesthetic “story telling”, underlined by a deck of cards inviting to uncover the “aces” of handmade manufacturing. The concept has been developed into three locations telling three different stories: White Studio inside Base Milano, White Folies inside White Superstudio Più, and, finally, White Artisan Lounge in the white building at 27 Via Tortona.

We have selected three realities within White Studio, which have impressed the public with new aesthetic concepts, leading to the new avant-guard trends of next seasons. Once again, the Southern-Italian designer (from Calabria) Mario Costantino Triolo brings the effigy of Queen Elizabeth I back to life, but from a new contemporary perspective, in a sort of homage to a new style for everyday life. After the success obtained during September 2016 White Edition, the designer has entered into a partnership with artist Juri Lorenzetti, who has reinterpreted the image of Queen Elizabeth I through sudden brushstrokes directly realised on the dresses, that transform the image and the dresses into a painting to be worn. The pret-à-porter Greta Boldini brand - much appreciated during the last catwalks of AltaRoma

- has presented its FW 2017–2018 collection, consolidating the stylistic DNA of the company: a modern and bold elegance characterised by 100% made-in-Italy craftsmanship. On the other hand, the style by Apnoea, a Milan’s brand launching its first collection during the event, appears more transgressive. Its collection is a clear declaration of identity for the brand, that is born like a transparent and light air bubble; through it, we can be seen and we can see, from a deformed perspective, new aesthetic concepts. An air bubble that, at the same time, protects and exalts what is inside. This is the reason why the entire collection has the usage of PVC as its common denominator. Elaborated like a true fabric, we can find it curled, with relief effects or with ultra feminine details over raincoats, overcoats, gowns or single-shoulder dress covers. The collection clothing items are designed to be overlaid, combined with other dresses, thus emphasizing the details of each model as if it was a magnifying lens. The next edition of White Man & Woman will take place from 17th to 19th of June, with previews from the ready-to-wear feminine and masculine collections. In particular, the event will be developed according to two distinct profiles: on the one hand, there will be the brands’ menswear collections and the feminine precollections; on the other, the segment denominated “Only Woman” will be consolidated, where research and innovation brands from the international fashion system will show off their womenswear products.

La collezione è una dichiarazione d’identità del marchio che nasce come bolla d’aria trasparente e leggera, attraverso la quale possiamo essere visti e vedere nuovi concetti estetici con una prospettiva deformata. Una bolla che al contempo protegge e risalta ciò che è al suo interno. Motivo per il quale l’intera collezione ha come comune denominatore l’utilizzo del pvc. Elaborato come un vero tessuto lo troviamo ora arricciato, con effetti a rilievo o con dettagli super femminili su impermeabili, cappotti, gonne o copriabiti monospalle. I capi della collezione sono stati progettati per essere sovrapposti e combinati con altri vestiti esaltando cosi, come una lente di ingrandimento, i particolari dettagli di ogni modello. La prossima edizione di White Man & Woman andrà in scena dal 17 al 19 giugno con le anticipazioni del ready-to-wear femmenile e le collezioni del menswear. La manifestazione avrà due profili ben definiti: da un lato saranno esposte le collezioni menswear e le precollection femminili dei brand, dall’altro diventerà sempre più reale il segmento dell’Only Woman, dove i marchi di ricerca del fashion system internazionale esporranno, esclusivamente i prodotti womenswear.

1959 in Milano Marittima (Italy), with a clear recalling to its founder’s name - my father, whose name was Giuliano Zabberoni. Giuliano opened its activity with the support of his wife, Lia Randi, who is my mother. Fascinated by the most creative aspects of fashion and always projected towards innovation, he decided to open another store in Ravenna in the mid ‘60s. During the course of the years, with his new partner Anzia Alici, and later with my collaboration, the business has focused and consolidated on the luxury-shops based in Milano Marittima. Today, next to the two long-established stores denominated “Julian Fashion Woman” and “Julian Fashion Man”, in 2016 we have added a new store - “Maison J”. The company is run by me and Anzia Alici, Owner & General Manager, in collaboration with my

Affascinato dall’aspetto più creativo della moda e sempre proiettato verso il nuovo, decise di inaugurare a metà degli anni ’60 un’altra boutique a Ravenna. As far as the online channel is concerned, our target customers are the global market persons with an age between 25 and 44 years. 70% of our customers are women, while the remaining 30% are men. Our top market is represented by Japan, followed by the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and the United States. It is important to highlight that each market has its own characteristics, with different dynamics and choices. For example, Japanese customers like to make shopping in total security and want a product made with meticolous attention, starting from its packaging. With regard to our Stores, our clientèle is different with respect to that of our Web Site, and it is possible to identify two distinct target customers. On the one hand, we have men and women aged between 35 and 60 years, who are generally represented by businessmen or entrepreneurs in varied sectors, but also professionals; on the other,

As a matter of fact, Italy remains among one of our main country markets (with customers coming from Emilia-Romagna Region or from Milan area, especially), but we can also count on regular customers from Monte Carlo and on many tourists during the summer season as well. How has the sales system changed during the Sixties and in today’s digital era? Recently, we have met Celeste Generoso - designer at the same-name brand Celeste G. producing bijoux - at the White Show in Milan, and we have taken the opportunity of making an interview to her. Can you tell us something about your professional career? Professionally, I have developed my skills at my grandmother’s atelier - a really enchanted place to me. I was just a girl and I could spend my time in large spaces, with unlimited wooden stairs covered in night blue velvet. There, Tuscany’s wealthiest ladies came and bought articles made by the biggest fashion brands. I have seen a myriad of fantastic things and good ones there; I could literally feed on beauty for all my life. When I was 13 years old, I decided to undertake artistic studies, and I enrolled to the Arts School in Pistoia, with a specialization in Fabrics and Tissues. During those years, I started to get familiarity with raw materials and handwork. Later, I continued my studies at the Academy of Fine Art in Venice, where I

Ci racconti un pò del tuo percorso formativo. Sono cresciuta nell’atelier di mia nonna, un luogo per me incantato quando ero bambina. Aveva degli spazi molto grandi con delle interminabili scale di legno rivestite in velluto blu notte. Lì le signore toscane più facoltose venivano a comprare i grandi marchi di moda. Ne ho viste passare di cose belle ed uniche, mi sono nutrita per tutta la vita di bellezza. Compiuti i 13 anni ho deciso di intraprendere studi artistici e mi sono iscritta all’Istituto d’A rte di Pistoia con indirizzo Tessuto. Durante quegli anni ho iniziato a prendere confidenza con la materia prima e con il lavoro manuale. Poi ho continuato i miei studi presso l’A ccademia di Belle Arti di Venezia con indirizzo Scenografia: proiettata in quel

specialised in Scenic Design: being projected towards this new artistic world and study, I tried to find my way on my own. Initially, I became interested in recycling, devoting myself to the realization of dresses and bijoux using recovered materials. The first experience in this field was great, and I could participate into the competition entitled “Scenari d’Innovazione” (“Innovation Scenarios”) promoted by the Tuscan Association of Craftsmanship, where I gained a third position over a total of 400 candidates. I also attended for a fantastic traineeship in Belgrade, a city that has remained in my heart and that has inspired much of my work. Later, I realised a series of costumes for the theatre’s performance “Un Angelo nei Sobborghi” by Ramona Villoresi and Gianluca Barbadori, which premiered in New York, Rome and Florence. All these

I am really an instinctive person; therefore everything that gives me an emotion can be transformed into a Celeste G. accessory. A flower with particular tones that I may have seen in a garden can impress me, and it can inspire the creation of a necklace. My wish is that of creating unique items, with a continuous searching for innovation and improved craftsmanship, including the usage of raw materials mixed with precious ones. This responds to the new trends of fashion women, who also demand for a personal style and look.

The collection also includes a glitter series, enamelled stones that are then powdered with brilliant glitter colours (in gold, silver, copper, blue, black, red); all this is mounted over settings contoured by chains. We have also produced Christmas’ inspired articles, including feathers, collars and brooches that are real “must haves”, representing reindeer, Christmas’ trees, gift packets, and snowmen. Have you ever realized Special Edition collections? Yes, the collection denominated “Lente” is one of them. We have called it “Lente” (literally, “Lens”) as these bijoux items include glass material deprived of its talc: this particular processing gives to our articles a certain degree of transparency that enlarges the “body” of the accessory. For this collection, we have created a special edition bracelet, a ring and a pair of earrings.

been documented as a piece of underwear until around the year 1000, and, at that time, it was characterised by a very simple “T” structure, with sleeves cut in one piece together with the shirt. This garment shapes and fashions started to change from the Twelfth century onwards, by heightening the distinction between genres and the physicality of men and women. Starting from around 1400, the woman’s shirt began to be open and visible in some points of the body, becoming highly fashionable: i.e., over the neckline, along the vertical cut of the garment, and through the openings of the sleeves, where they get puffed. During the second Renaissance period, the shirt gained even more aesthetic importance, thanks to the richness of its fabrics and ornaments. Around the mid of Fifteenth century, the Spanish fashion of costumes brought the shirt collar to the maximum

This trend rapidly spread across Europe by becoming a symbol of power and forcing the body to take an unnatural posture. The first public appearance of this style - where the shirt became the main element of the court’s feminine clothing - was during the International Exhibition of Paris of 1783, thanks to a previous work by artist Élisabeth VigéeLe Brun, entitled “Marie Antoinette in muslin dress”, where the French Queen was depicted with a light transparent muslin dress that made such a scandal. This shirt style was adopted by Marie Antoinette and other court’s ladies thanks, to a certain extent, to the work by Le Brun. By making reference to an episode lived with the French Queen while they commented about the famous portrait “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo Da Vinci, Élisabeth VigéeLe Brun wrote in her diary: “The Queen asked me if I was thinking that there was a mysterious message in that portrait... I thought about it, and I told to the Queen that the painter was probably

But it was only when the Hollywoodian stars begun to wear it during the 1940s that the shirt became a popular and loved piece of clothing, thus turning in the 1960s into a true symbol of an androgynous style, thanks to a photo taken by Robert Mapplethorpe of Patty Smith for the music album entitled Horses. During the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s decades, the shirt has become the icon of women’s modern style, and then the symbol of their fight for equal opportunities and rights. The garment has

Consolidated during the 2000s decade as a “must” for a casual-chic look, to be used in the work environment, today the shirt is back to shine, and it comes enriched with decorative elements such as ruffles, laces and embroidery works in the catwalks of great fashion designers for their Summer season 2017. Balenciaga proposes it with a diagonally striped motif and changes its typical silhouette by making the shoulders the most important element. Actually, the “Y-shaped” line seems to be the favourite one for the designers in the Summer 2017 collections. The sleeves are undoubtedly the main focal point: with an elaborated shape, they are often over-size or with Renaissance-style openings. Flakes and flounces contribute to create innovative volumes.

White and long, recalling the fashion of the Medieval underwear tunic, with a light leather drawstring linked to the waist, its shirt is almost in the Franciscan Friars’ guise. Lanvin presents a particular version of the tailleur concept, lengthening its striped shirt up to the ankles, also recalling an Indian traditional tunic. Michael Kors brings us back to the 1970s, with a maxicollar shirt in the button-down style, while DKNY remains faithful to its minimalist DNA by creating asymmetric cuts in an absolutely white cotton. Italian ready-to-wear brands have risen to the challenge as well. Mary D’Aloia reinterprets the classic white shirt in a burlesque manner, positioning a black corset with a laced basque over it. Le Streghe brand chooses a traditional design shirt, enriched with particular accessories. Finally, Tenax gets inspiration from Victorian Age shirts; in its Spring 2017 Collection, it presents slim-fit models with flared sleeves and unique curls on the front side.

Configurata come un’occasione di reciproca valorizzazione tra gli oggetti antichi esposti al museo e le moderne creazioni dello stilista, la mostra dedicata a Manolo Blahnìk promossa dal Comune di Milano ed a cura di Cristina Carrillo de Alboroz ha aperto le porte delle sale di Palazzo Morando a Milano lo scorso 26 gennaio. Prima esposizione in Italia dedicata all’iconico designer spagnolo più amato da Carrie Bradshaw, celebre personaggio della serie televisiva “Sex and the city”, che comprende una selezione di 212 modelli e 80 disegni che raccontano i 45 anni di attività dello stilista. La selezione è stata minuziosamente realizzata dallo stesso Manolo insieme alla curatrice, da un archivio che conta oltre 30.000 modelli che rappresentano una riflessione personale del lavoro del grande designer. Set up as an occasion of reciprocal promotion and regard, between the musealized antique collection and the stylist’s modern creations, the exhibition dedicated to Manolo Blahnìk - sponsored by the Municipality of Milan and edited by Cristina Carrillo de Alboroz -, has been inaugurated on January 26, in the museum halls of Palazzo Morando, in Milan. It is the first exhibition in Italy dedicated to the iconic Spanish stylist who is so appreciated by Carrie Bradshaw, the famous female character on “Sex and the City” TV series. The exhibition includes a selection of 212 models, and 80 drawings which tell about the stylist’s 45 years of activity. The selection has been meticulously prepared and realised by the same stylist, together with the curator, relying on an archive which can boast over 30,000 shoe models, and representing a true personal reflection on the job by this great stylist. Through the exteriorization of the shoe models’ most intimate essence, Manolo Blahnìk’s passions representing the source of his inspiration are so revealed: the artistic expressions by architecture, arts, literature, cinema, botany, and the culture of countries like Italy, Russia and Spain, as well as the history of Eighteenth century. At the very heart of this exhibition is indeed his desire of telling and evoking the deep influence which Italian arts and culture have exercised, and they still exercise on the

The work by Blahnìk is a perfect receptacle of tributes and homages to Italian arts, as evidenced by the multiple references: from Greek-Roman sculpture to Baroque, from the film masterpiece by Luchino Visconti - “Il Gattopardo” - to the corals of Sicily, just to mention a few. The exhibition is divided into six sections, which take an insight into the constant themes of the stylist’s career. The first section, the largest one, is entitled “Core”, and it hosts the shoes dedicated to historical and contemporary personalities who have inspired or have had an important role in the life of Blahník: from Alexander the Great to Brigitte Bardot. The second one, “Materiali”, includes a selection of shoes setting forth the stylist’s care and attention for elaborated details, as well as the richness of the materials and colours used with exquisite mastership. The third section reviews his passion for the arts and architecture, and the way in which they have inspired his constructions. The fourth section, “Gala”, presents a variety of the most fanciful shoes by the stylist, highlighting his sense of irony, and his creativity: “Marie Antoinette” shoes are here included. The fifth section is dedicated to nature, to his deep love for the botanical world, an element which has been evident since the very first collection by the designer. Finally, in the last section, the different geographical and environmental elements that have influenced his work are examined: i.e., models inspired by Spain, Italy, Africa, Russia, United Kingdom and Japan. In addition to Manolo shoes, visitors can also find some shoe models coming from the Museum’s Civic Historical Collections, which have been selected by Chiara Buss, fabrics and costumes historian. This small selection of antique shoes aims at creating a contrasting background but also a sort of “dialogue” with Manolo’s creations, by enriching each other.

The image change also reflects in the new advertising campaign that has chosen “The Divine Comedy” by Dante Alighieri to announce the new course of theMICAM, having the three canticles of Dante’s poem as the leitmotiv. This imagery path will be three years long, starting from this edition focused on one of the Seven Deadly Sins, the “lust” among the infernal circles, followed by “seduction” on September, to continue next year with the frames of the Purgatory, and concluding in 2019 with the light of Heaven. The exhibition offer has been divided into precise thematic areas, including important add-ons such as Proraso Man Square. At pavilion 1, within the “Luxury” area, an authentic Barber Shop has been installed, in partnership with Proraso, including three barber’s installations, with vintage fittings and furniture, managed by Italian Style Factory - a well-known barber’s shop based in Seveso (Milan), that has offered a free traditional shaving or beard/moustache trimming service to visitors, upon reservation. The old times’ atmosphere has been made even more genuine thanks to the presence of two installations by “Sciuscià”: among shelves full of shoe polishes and brushes, this space is the real novelty of the 83rd Edition, together with the Emerging Designer

Area of pavilion 1, within the frame of Fashion Square, a space completely dedicated to Italian and International emerging designers. theMICAM has closed at Fiera Milano (Rho) its 83rd Edition with 44,610 certified visitors (+5% if compared to the edition of February 2016), of whom 26,505 were from abroad (+8%), while 18,105 were from Italy (+1.2%). The event has hosted a total of 1,405 exhibitors, of which 795 were Italian, and 610 came from abroad: the Italian industry can boast a turnover of Eur. 14 billion a year. At an international level, Russia has marked an increase of 18%, in line with Ukraine (+20%). But the best performance has been recorded by South Korea, a country which is always more and more attracted by the quality of made-in-Italy production, with a rise of +53%. Within the European continent, Germany has grown by 10%, while France has dropped by 7%.

In 2009, the city was declared as the “fashion capital of the world” by the Global Language Monitor, even surpassing its relative cities.

FLORENCE, TUSCANY DISTRICT

Florence is regarded by some as the birthplace and earliest centre of the modern (post World War Two) fashion industry in Italy. The Florentine “soirées” of the early 1950s organized by Giovanni Battista Giorgini were events where several now-famous Italian designers participated in group shows and first garnered international attention. Florence has served as the home of the Italian fashion company Salvatore Ferragamo since 1928. Gianfranco Lotti, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Ermanno Scervino, Stefano Ricci, Patrizia Pepe, Enrico Coveri and Emilio Pucci were also founded and most of them are still headquartered in Florence. Other major players in the fashion industry such as Prada and Chanel have large offices and stores in Florence or its outskirts. Florence’s main upscale shopping street is Via de’ Tornabuoni, where major luxury fashion houses and jewelry labels, such as Armani and Bulgari, have their elegant boutiques.

The city of Padua hosts a prestigious and ancient university, an advanced fashion school and boasts artistic and cultural memories of a glorious past that make it the favourite destination for many tourists from all over the world. Nowadays it is one of the most efficient and largest business centres of Northern Italy. The industrial area of Padua was created in the eastern part of the city in 1946; it is now one of the biggest industrial zones in Europe, having an area of 11 million sqm. The main offices of 1,300 industries are based here, employing 50,000 people. Goods arrive in Padua from every part of Europe to be sent all over the world, especially to Asia. In the industrial zone there are two railway stations, one fluvial port, three truck terminals, two highway exits and a lot of connected services, such as hotels, post offices and directional centres.

ANCONA, MARCHE DISTRICT

Ancona is one of the main ports on the Adriatic Sea, especially for passenger traffic, and is the main economic and demographic centre of Marche region. Since the 1980s the economy of the district has been radically transformed, without however repudiating its rural past. Many of the small craft workshops scattered throughout the rural settlements have modernised and become small businesses, some of which have become major renowned brands (Indesit, Tod’s, Guzzini, Teuco). This evolution led to the emergence of ‘specialised’ industrial areas, which are still profitable: footwear and leather goods in a large area straddling the provinces of Macerata and Fermo; furniture in the Pesaro area in particular; household appliances and textile industry in the province of Ancona, in which the main engineering companies are also to be found.

Naples is Italy’s fourth-largest economy after Milan, Rome and Turin, a major cargo terminal and its port is one of the Mediterranean’s largest and busiest. The city has experienced significant economic growth since World War II, being one of Italy and Europe’s top tourist cities. In recent times, there has been a move away from a traditional agriculture-based economy in the province of Naples to one based on service industries. In early 2002, there were over 249,590 enterprises operating in the province. Most of them are located at CIS, an industrial area near the town of Nola. The creative and commercial heart of Naples is Chiaia district. Stretching from Via Riviera di Chiaia to Via Calabritto, then Piazza dei Martiri, Via Santa Caterina, Rodino square, Via Filangieri and Via Dei Mille this elegant district represents a path across the main brands of design and fashion and hosts the annual event “Napoli Moda Design”.
