PHO SOUP

ALL OF VIETNAM IN ONE SPOON !

Pho is more than just a soup: it’s an institution in Vietnam! Born at the end of the 19th century, this emblematic dish draws its influences from both Chinese and French cuisine. The Chinese brought their love of noodles, the French their taste for beef (and perhaps even the word “pho”, inspired by potau-feu). The result ? An ultra-fragrant broth, simmered with spices like star anise and cinnamon, melting rice noodles, tender meat and a shower of fresh herbs to sublimate it all.

07 00 03 03 83 fondation.richmondsart

Until March 14, 2025, Richmond’s Art Foundation, in collaboration with Domaine de la Rêverie d’Anyama, is exhibiting the work of Ivorian artist Rosalie Boka. In her exhibition “Myths and Mysteries”, she explores collective and personal narratives linked to the forest: a refuge of wisdom and initiation, but also a place of mystery and metamorphosis. Ancient myths rub shoulders with contemporary visions, and viewers are invited to lose themselves in these scenes between reality and imagination.

“The forest has always been a sanctuary of mystery and myth. Artist Rosalie Boka invites us to explore this enchanting and enigmatic world through a series of paintings that capture the essence of the legends and secrets buried in the undergrowth. Rosalie Boka’s works stand at the crossroads of dreams and memories, where roots become veins, and foliage the skies where timeless stories lurk. Combining vibrant textures, dreamlike palettes and organic forms, each painting transports us to a universe where nature becomes a living theater, inhabited by presences both familiar and elusive.

“Myths and Mysteries” is not just a celebration of nature, but an introspective journey, a quest to discover what the forest - a universal symbol of the unknown and transformation - reveals about our own inner mysteries. Enter this labyrinth of branches, shadows and light, and let yourself be guided by Rosalie Boka’s canvases, where each brushstroke is a doorway to a forgotten narrative and an invitation to full awareness of the need to safeguard flora and fauna in a climate of massive environmental destruction.”

JULIETTE - INSTITUT FRANÇAIS

THEATRE

Juliette is an African theatrical adaptation inspired by William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The play explores the forbidden, almost cursed romance between Juliet and Romeo, hampered by ancestral rivalries and the weight of tradition. Trapped by custom and conflict between the Capulet and Montague families, Juliet decides to take her destiny into her own hands, embracing her struggle as a symbol of emancipation for women in society. As such, this adaptation celebrates women’s inner strength, courage and determination to chart their own course. In every scene, Juliette defies imposed roles, fighting for her right to choose, live and love freely. Freely adapted by Hamed Sy Savané and directed by Hamed Sy Savané and Abass Zein.

SNOW WHITE MOVIE OF THE MONTH

Ayoung, jet-haired princess was born with such a porcelain complexion that she was christened Snow White. Snow White. Unfortunately, her great beauty provoked the growing jealousy of the queen, who had bewitched her father.

BAAB talks about it...

The Walt Disney studio continues its tradition of adapting animated films to live-action. 88 years after David Hand’s animated version, “Snow White” and her 7 dwarfs return to the silver screen in a remake that dusts off the original story with a contemporary twist. Rachel Zegler plays a modern-day Snow White, less passive and well-ordered than in the 1937 cartoon, more determined and combative, particularly when it comes to dealing with the Evil Queen (played by Gal Gadot) or saving her kingdom. But there are still the hallmarks of the original tale: the character’s gentleness, her relationship with her evil stepmother, her 7 miniature allies and the yellow and blue dress of the mythical princess who lulled our childhood ! To see if the magic still works, visit your Majestic theaters from March 21, 2025.

See you on April 6, 2025 for a great celebration of Ivorian rugby. Be warned, there will be surprises !

The CRAC National Tournament (TNC) returns this year with a unique edition under the theme “The Rugby School : a vector of education a vector of education, diversity and pleasure”. Organized by the Cocody Rugby Abidjan Club (CRAC), the tournament will bring together 1,000 young rugby players, aged 5 to 15, from all over Côte d’Ivoire.

CRAC, a history of passion and transmission

Founded in 2015 by rugby enthusiasts, CRAC has established itself as a driving force in the development of rugby in Côte d’Ivoire. Since the first edition of the TNC in 2016, this tournament has become a major annual event for young Ivorian rugby players, bringing together more and more children from all the country’s clubs every year. In 10 years, CRAC has built a strong identity and a close-knit collective, offering a structured framework and professional standards for the organization of high-level sporting events.

A tournament focused on youth and learning

The TNC 2025 highlights the educational role of rugby, emphasizing the values of solidarity, acceptance of diversity and enjoyment of the game. More than a competition, it’s a real school of life, where each child learns to evolve within a team, to surpass himself and to share unforgettable moments.

A festive and structuring event for Ivorian rugby

The TNC 2025 will be much more than just a tournament - it will be a time of sharing, learning and joy for all the country’s young rugby players. Celebrating 10 years of the CRAC, this edition will be historic and memorable, combining sport, entertainment and celebrations to mark a decade of passion and commitment to Ivorian rugby.

RICA 2025

GET READY, THEY’RE COMING !

The RICA are intercultural circus meetings in Abidjan. They return from April 14 to 20, 2025. This 7th edition welcomes shows from Africa, America and Europe, with an explosive program that’s right up to date! Here’s a taste of what’s to come !

A not-to-be-missed event on the Ivorian cultural scene, the RICAs have been a real popular success, with over 70,000 spectators since their creation. The festival’s national and international reputation continues to grow with each successive edition.

International shows at sky-high prices ! Booklets of 25 tickets are now available to go to shows as a tribe and treat yourself to some great moments. WHAT’S NEW IN 2025

“Let’s laugh together to live together... and cultivate solidarity” is the theme of the 2025 edition. And 7 companies are going to immerse you in good humor.

The French Compagnie Singulière, with their show “Amalgames”, claims to be bluffing ! With daring performances, the artists play with our nerves, take risks and challenge our perceptions... all just to make us laugh ! The company 4ème souffle explains to young audiences how to live better with their “adult companions”. Laughter guaranteed.

RDC’s Accrobantou are great clowns ! But they also know how to perform physical feats !

Circus is also about telling stories, and translating our societies onto the stage through their performances. The Americans of Minty Fresh Circus do just that. Their Afrofuturistic show travels between the USA and Africa, and tells the story of black Americans.

The Burkinabés of Dafra Cirque translate into their gestures the sadness and hopes of children living in a country where armed attacks are sometimes all too close.

If you want a show that goes at 100 km/h, the Ivoire Cirque Décalé company will leave you breathless. The performers play around huge barrels that reflect the struggles of young people on gold-mining sites. This troupe, born in the RICA a few years ago, now flies as high as its artists’ somersaults ! Their compatriots from the Lumière d’Afrique circus also rise high to thrill us with their acrobatics. Great show guaranteed !
