Have you ever heard a Globe crying?

Long, long ago, there was a Globe that lived in a Land of Mystery conquered by the Grand Dark. He was alone and sad. Out of so much loneliness, he grew smaller and smaller. He got as small as a quail’s egg. He cried all day long looking forward to the night, and to going to bed. He knew he could grow more only in his sleep. Somebody whispered to him this secret once, in a dream, the only dream he ever had. And he wanted so much to become large. He was a dreaming Globe! He rolled continuously along the dark passages of the Mystery Land, without knowing where to go. One evening, he noticed a bump on himself, and he hurried to go to bed. He fell asleep worrying, and feeling that something was going to happen to him. He woke up at midnight. He couldn’t roll as usual. Something bothered him. He turned happily to the other side. At last somebody appeared! He had got tired of so much silence.

“Good morning, Globe! Can I live here too?” asked a small tree that had just put forth his buds.
“Good morning, good morning!” answered the Globe astonished, looking away distracted by the sun dancing.

Somebody had decided to live together with him at last. He had just made a friend. On that day, the Globe grew a lot because he was happy, and he was not alone any more. In the evening, he kissed the buds of the small tree and went to bed listening to the rain that was sprinkling water over the tree, thinking about how to help it become a forest.
How lucky he was a dreaming Globe!
When he got up in the morning, he noticed a green spot on himself.
“I am a Globe that acquires color,” said he, believing nobody could hear him.
“Color and life,” added the birds and the animals that had made their nests in his woods.

“What a miracle! There isn’t so much quietness around,” said the Globe. He then went to bed.
When he got up, he couldn’t believe his eyes, he had become a plump Globe with room for many creatures and species. He was a Globe with high mountains and clear seas, with flying king-fishers and blue whales, with deer, penguins, parrots, butterflies and flowers, and with winter and summer.
