As a team, we feel strongly that these goals are achieved through a culture that is advancing our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and most importantly, putting people first in everything we do.

Together, we can continue to ensure we create a welcoming community that continues to look at safety and security from a holistic lens in which to learn, grow and thrive.

Elevating Technology

Under the direction of the Emergency Manager, a temporary Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was proactively set up and activated for this year’s commencement ceremonies. The EOC serves as the single focal point for coordinating the operational, planning, logistical, administrative support needs of incident response personnel It also provides situational awareness in the form of information and intelligence gathering. From this position, we are able to monitor weather, live drone feeds, and any other security related issues that could impact campus.

We upgraded our Rave Emergency Notification System, enabling integration with visitors and events/groups to campus to ensure that campus event attendees receive important emergency notifications. We also added the option to receive these messages in thirteen different languages to better serve our community.

Public Safety has created a Drone Unit. BCPD is one of, if not the only place of higher education in the Commonwealth, with a drone. BCPD is well ahead of the technological curve with its acquisition and usage of drones The Drone Unit consists of one sergeant, one officer, and an emergency management specialist with three drones. All pilots are Part 107 licensed and have attended various trainings such as Law Enforcement Drone Association’s Northeast Conference held at Babson in May of 2024
