Cyanotype Sun-Printing Workshop

Tuesday, February 8, 5:00 P.M.–7:00 P.M. (EST)

Tuesday, March 8, 5:00 P.M.–7:00 P.M. (EST)

Saturday, March 26, 1:30 P.M.–3:30 P.M. (EST)

2D/3D Studio (Trim 215)

Outdoors (Meet in Trim 215)

The Zentangle Method is an easy-tolearn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. These patterns, called tangles, are created with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, and orbs. No experience necessary. Come discover your artistic side!

Cyanotype is the oldest non-silver photographic printing process. It involves materials treated with a photo-sensitive chemical that reacts to a UV light source such as the sun. Water then stops the process and fixes the shadows of objects placed on the material. The majority of this project will occur outdoors where participants will find items in nature to create their projects. Workshop dependent on weather.

2D/3D Studio (Trim 215) A linocut is a type of relief, or block print, very similar to woodblock printing. An image is carved into a linoleum (lino) or rubber block, with the resulting image inked and used as a reusable stamp for printmaking. This workshop will introduce participants to a simple single-color linocut.
